Aww you poor thing, you had a bad dream and missed your appointment at the jobcentre.
Were you the kid at school whos dog always ate his homework?

    Very nice of you.

OP: You can put in an appeal using a GL24 form which can be obtained from the Jobcentre or download it here and print & fill it out if you can:

    http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/gl24dwp.pdf

Read everything there and see if it's worth appealing (it probably won't be hence the reason why the government have implemented this new one-week sanction thing - it used to be only one day). There is no point in applying for hardship funds or social funds as these will be refused flat out as it's a sanction.

    I wouldn't bother appealing.

The law states you have five days from the day of FTA to show good cause. The reason you have given here would never amount to good cause (on its own).

    New information can't be considered.

OT I know, but the decision makers must have a right giggle at some of the excuses they are given.

OP - If you have a mobile phone, sometimes they have alarm things on them where you can put in appointments. If you do have one and it does have this facility, it may be wise to put the appointment in and it will remind you either the day before, 2 days before or even an hour or so before the appointment is due to start (you set the parameters of reminding).

Been an absolute godsend to me.....I forget to look at the calendar but always have my phone with me.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

In fairness, it's possibly the lamest excuse i've ever heard!
There is really no excuse for forgetting your sign-on day. Circle it in a calendar, put an alarm on your phone etc.

You missed the appointment and dont have a valid reason so u must take the sanction.

There's no need for some of the trolling remarks on here, which is so often now.

Some useful advice like sticky note and phone calendar alarm reminder are very good indeed.

OP I've just been looking at your previous posts.

Have you been to your GP with regards obtaining a CPN as you said you was going to do back in March?

You've mentioned previously that your medication is causing this side effect of bad dreams and memory loss, have you brought this up with your GP? he will most likely be able to change it.

Have you made another application for ESA yet?

Perhaps the OP needs to try and remember to buy a calendar with spaces on it to write all appointments down if he has a memory impairment,

Funnily, I would've thought they would have one to record job interviews etc.
