I looked at some of these "£1 sale" items, and they mostly looked like low-cost special purchase items. Certainly not stuff I'd seen in the store before.0

They did have toy pencil sharpeners normally 36p each, but you can buy 3 for a £1 and save 8p. Otherwise I didn't see anything else that I thought was worth having. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

Ventured to my local Tesco Extra and had a look at all the '£1' merchandise. I'd be hard-pressed to say that much of it is worth more than £1, and it's certainly not merchandise that's been on sale at a higher price within the store.
Verdict - good for stocking fillers, nick-nacks and everyday household goods, but don't go out of your way expecting great bargains.
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
I got a 2 pack of Tesco Halogen 50W bulbs for £1 - Yesterday I bought some from B&Q for £4.99! (needles to say they are going back to B&Q!) I'm going to buy a few more and stock up.
Busy working Mum of 3

There were stacks of £1 items at the end of every isle of my Tesco Extra. Managed to get mousemat (rugrats manege to clog all of mine with biscuit crumbs), sports drinks bottles, drawstring PE bags, post it note stack of 6, paint brush set, tippex (5 bottles), pack of 16 glitter glues, compass bell for son's bike, kids backpack with caterpillar design.
Other items I saw were packs of little dinosaurs/animals, bead making kit, soldiers, felt tips, colouring books, bike pump. Lots of household stuff, some DIY, candles, small photo frames...and quite a bit more.
Think I'd do ok on the Generation Game?
Anyway hope that helps
