I bought some tesco ones that were supposed to write at 8X but they only wrote at 1X, bought 2 packs and both the same. Could have been just a bad batch, but fine for recording on a dvd recorder.
Out of a pack of 5 from the poundshop, 3 failed, don't even bother!

Sounds like your writer didn't recognise the MID code for the Tesco media and defaulted to 1x. A firmware upgrade may well fix this.

  • At Weston Favell they now seem to have different offers in two different places (although they keep moving things, as they're refitting the store)

Up by the pharmacy were some baskets of things like badminton rackets, packs of 4 shuttlecocks, impact screwdrivers, tape measures - these were £1 each, but BOGOF

Then in another aisle past the fruit/veg and freezers they have the picture hanging sets, two halogen bulbs, coat hangers etc - these are also £1, but are buy 3 and only pay for 2

The cashier asked me where those packs of two halogen bulbs are kept in the shop, as elsewhere in the same store they are charging £2.97 for ONE halogen bulb!
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Who keeps dvd's for ten years?

I use DVDR for data backup that I expect to last longer than cheap DVDR can provide.

And I certainly do not mean 10 years. (have had cheap stuff go after mere months, and it's not my writer)

I'd remove that link from your signature if I was you, breaches forum rules ...........
