There is a surprise. A mass audience desperate to get their hands on a gimmicy phone. So desperate that they blindly click and pass details to a website which is too good to be true.

I read that BBC article and it doesn't go anywhere near enough as to explaining what a scam this was.
Not only did they not tell people only 8 phones were available, they lied at the end of the promotion and said they had sold 200. The article also mentions that a progress bar at one point said half the phones were still available. What it didn't say was at this time it said that 202 had been sold, the implication being over 400 were available.
And their punishment for running this scam? They are told to not do it again. I bet the directors are shaking i their boots after such a thorough telling off.0
