Cheap Campsite in Cornwall (preferably Newquay)

Hello there - I wondered if anyone could recommend a nice cheap campsite in Newquay?

I have beens shopping around for a couple of days but as there is going to be 4 adults and 4 children (one large tent) the price seems to be rather large! (cheapest I have found so far is about £350)

Ive been advised that we really need to book so would appreciate any help.

Its for the week commencing 24th July

Not sure if it would be your definition of cheap but we stay at Hendra every year and it's got fantastic facilities and personally we cannot fault it.

LOL, hendra will cost a bomb, When we went down we stayed on carbis bay beach free of charge its a private beach owned by carbis bay hotel but we had no problems for a week the beer and fishing waz great!! dolphins too

To be fair, £350/8 is less than £40 each. I just looked at Trenance, but they're fully booked.

One key issue will be transport. Do you have/will you be using a car to arrive/travel about? Or will you want to camp and walk? Or camp and use local buses? Do you mind if the site's got lots of teens, or did you want one that mostly has families? Do you want/need entertainment/pool etc?

£9.95/adult x 4 = £40
£7.95/child x 4 = £36

So that one would be £76/night... without electric. If you wanted to bring a car and have electric, that's another £56 or so for the week.

Hi, yeah i've looked at that one before, its well expensive!

I have managed to find one now for £175 but its not really the exact location we want to be. Like I said we would rather be nearer Newquay

As we are a family I think we would rather a family friendly camp site as opposed to it being overrun with young adults! but at the same time dont want the kids getting moaned at if they are enjoying themselves or getting over excited.


Oh and thanks Funkyfenn but seen as though we have our kids with us I think we would rather book than just staying on the beach - sounds a blast though lol

How about treyarnon bay. A lovely traditional campsite. It is part of a static caravan site. Has an amazing little bay which is next to where you stay, that people go surfing in the sea, and has lifeguards. There is also a beach shop and a food van. The top end of the site is where the tents go, and through a cut through is a lovely little shop and a small village is 2 min drive away with a Rick Stein pub, two other pubs, another camp site where you can go to a restaurant, and several shops. There are also showers, loos, pot washing place, and washing machines.

I worked out the maximum cost would be £40 per night to include two cars and 8 people. hth

Trenance is in newquay, Mate booked for this year 1week Mid august, £200 for 2A 2C

Tollgate farm, closer to perranporth than newquay, next door to the haven site.
