    Well, the exciting news is.....

    I am engaged :j :j :j

BF proposed last weekend whilst we were away :) and I'm SO happy, I can't stop smiling! :D

That's lovely news SF, does this mean you'll be planning a wedding soon?

Top-drawer I used to have a granny moped when I was a lot younger and before I could drive a car. I loved the freedom of being able to zip off anywhere I pleased and especially for getting to work, it sounds like a good idea for you and they are so economical on fuel - I wish I were brave enough to tackle the roads on two wheels. I reckon it would be good to get some road safety or defensive driving skills training if you can. The only downside is every day is a bad hair day,

This past week I've been mostly being bored or boring, I'm utterly over the rain as I don't think hardly a day has passed in the past month where we've not had a soggy garden, wet washing, wet cats and muddy footprints. One more week and it will be officially Spring - yay for that!!

I have done several more crochet squares, which are piling up nicely and I am resisting the temptation to count them.

CONGRATULATIONS, SF! Delighted for you and wish you and OH every happiness for the future. :D

Top_drawer - good luck with interview, exams, househunting etc but alarm bells ringing when you said "£50 finance" for the moped. Please be careful, that £50 could make or break a tight budget on top of even the tiniest running costs, especially whilst househunting, which will, undoubtedly, bring with it added expenses. How does the extra expense compare to the amount you're saving regularly into the bank/BS/ISA or similar? We're on a challenge to live a frugal life free of debt, getting into it just doesn't seem sensible unless it's interest free credit, costs less than you're currently saving and can be serviced in the event of a sudden drop in income. Not wanting to put the dampers on, but make sure you do your sums and that it really is sensible getting into debt. (Sounds a bit of a contradiction in terms to me.)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

ChinaTea - you are frighteningly well-organised - I applaud you!:T I love the sound of all your garden produce.

Hope everyone is well - am sorry if I'm forgetting to mention/reply to anyone but I am a complete wreck today. Yesterday was a loooong day after consultant's appt and I'm paying the price today. He thinks I have fibromyalgia AND M.E. - is that even possible?!

Nualabuala, Me, organised? the 2 words don't quite go together much as I'd like to be super organised but I do try. Today I have finally got the buttons sewn onto the cardi I finished in February, should tell you something :)

Yes it's possible to have both FMS and ME or at least I've been diagnosed with both. According to the consultant FMS is a chronic pain condition and ME a chronic fatique condition. That doesn't really help if you have a GP who doesn't think ME is a real illness! Don't get me started else I'll be here all day.

Frugalling going well, had 3lb blackberries, 5lb plums, 2lb greengages donated last week so started making jam. Haven't done this for years but enjoyed it. The fruit I haven't got round to has gone into the freezer to be done at a later date. Have already got 3lb of gooseberries in there so guess what everyone will be getting for Christmas.

Went to the dreaded MrT last week with my neighbour and bought 2 short sleeved thermal tops reduced to £2.50 each. I bought 3 long sleeved ones from MrA at £4 each last year and they were a godsend so really pleased with these. The new ones are black but I'm not buying anything else white so I don't have to do a white wash as it takes me ages to get a full load of whites.

The torrential winds and gale force winds that we were forecast for today came overnight and this morning has been quite nice. Too wet to get on the garden though but at least no watering again tonight. DS is coming at the weekend to take the old garage down before it falls down. Will give extra room for veggies next year and as it stands on sleepers hoping these will make some raised beds.

Not much else happening here really, still living from the freezer as much as possible as it's a case of 1 in 1 out at the moment. How I managed with a small fridge freezer before DS donated his old chest freezer is beyond me although I think it's like my waistline , expanded to fill the space :rotfl:

Thank you ChinaTea - you explained that much better than my consultant did. I don't go back to him for another few months so have to put up the GP who doesn't believe till then. I feel better having a diagnosis but it is hard trying get people to understand I CAN'T and SHOULDN'T just push myself a bit harder, go back to college and do all the things I used to do. Sorry, had a barrage of well-intended advice and questions from some relatives yesterday and I am still feeling a bit "bruised" from it.

I hope your health is ok, that you are having some respite from the symptoms. Weren't you getting your house torn apart and put back together? Is that finished?

And happy jam-making! I was given a small amount of plums, not enough for jam but they will make a tasty crumble - yum! I already have the crumble topping made - have some leftover from last time that got bunged in the freezer. :)
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!
