I phoned Sky about this last night about this price increase (I am not happy with the reasons they are increasing there prices) and they advised me that if I wish to cancel any package (I wanted to cancel Sky Sports) then i have to give them 30days notice.
They advised me that they changed there terms and conditions in April and sent a letter to "every customer" to advise them of this (they actually said that they sent a letter in with the Sky Magazine and another letter on its own), both myself and my girlfriends dad have not received any letter advising of this.
So I am basically stuck with Sky Sports until August at the earliest becasue of there new t&c's.
It was on the covering letter for one issue of the sky mag. Every chance you may have missed it if you pay the same amount of attention to the sky mag as most subscribers0 -
I got the separate letter as it's filled in my things to do pile.
When I got it I rang Sky, cancelled my anytime talk time and ended up with a 20% 6 month discount on the tv package.
Once that has a month to go, I'm cancelling the Sports and Movie's and the news channels.
Don't forget that the £5 Broadband is going up to £7.50 in Sept, as everyone is getting put on unlimited.
So you could be looking at a £5.50 increase.0 -
Dammit.... Spurs qualify for the Champions League and I now have to pay £3 per month extra to potentiall watch them!
I definitely didn't get a letter notifying of the change in price either.
I never read the magazine, but one thing I ALWAYS do is check the covering letter that comes with it.
May look into switching to BT, but it's all swings and roundabouts.
I think Sky have the best Broadband deal..... yet BT have a better TV price.0 -
Never heard of £5 broadband from BT , is there a link ?
Also, I can't see the point in signing up for BT vision now when it doesn't do HD. HD TVs have been out for ages now so why are BT still not able to show it ?Stuff Martin Has Helped Me Save/Earn

bt vision does have hd content on demand, the freeview is currently not completely hd but bt have signed an agreement with the gov to up grade the transmitters to hd before the next world cup
and 5.00 bb from bt does not exist not with bt retail anyway but plus net is a bt owned company and knocks bb out really cheap0
