Oops, sorry I haven't replied. I've been away to London and Cardiff the past few days.
I have a flat!!I move in on 20th July so it's all go now. It's just off Newport Road but in a nice quiet cul-de-sac so I'm happy with it, it's really nice
Thanks for all the helpJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

the british heart foundation have a furniture store in canton (cowbridge road east) which always has plenty of cheapo TVs in stock. granted they are the old fashioned style, but they always have various sizes available and portables start from about £10. A few more quid for a freeview box and you're on your way :jknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

If you're working in the Admiral building near The Friary in the centre of town then you should be able to get in and back by bus, no problem (or even walking if you're feeling very energetic!)
A day to go ticket costs £3 and allows you to travel on any bus in the Cardiff area as many times as you want for one day.
Longer term bus pass prices are listed at the bottom of the page http://www.cardiffbus.com/fares.shtml
The Lewis charity shop on Clifton Street does a lot of furniture at reasonable prices and will deliver for £5 or £10. They sometimes have TVs - just depends what has been donated! The Red Cross shop is very good as well but is on the other side of town from your new address.0
