School trip £600!!!!!!!!!
Comments
-
I was a teenager in the 80's and my mum was a working (low wage no benefits) single parent. My mum sent me and brother on school trips as it was the only way she could afford for us to go abroad and experience these different things. Paying for one child on a school trip one year and my brother two years later was a more effective way for her to ensure we got the things she wanted us to experience.0

The questions are:
a) Does a week in Berlin actually have any effect on her GCSEs?
&
b) Is a week in Berlin worth £600?
The answer is: No.0 -
Its not just trips away, even day trips cost a lot, and if you've got two kids it soon adds up. I didn't let my daughter go on a three day trip to robinswood because it was £180 and we just couldn't afford it.0

We paid £180 for a 5 day trip for my eldest about 6 years ago to Robinwood. In February my youngest has a 4 day trip 1/2 hour up the road and it is £225 but i only have to pay £165 of it as i get benefits and the excess is funded by a childrens charity.Grocery Challenge - Jan £4.42/£200.00
Up my income - £124.00/ £11,000.0
