nahhh, i'm a happy person and i love make up :D i reckon i'd be good at selling avon products to be honest.

i don't think we have an avon rep on my street. i've never got an avon catalogue anyway.

how many houses do people normally have?

what worries me (from what i've read) is going on streets that someone already owns. also, i'm worried that i could lose money by doing it? if i'm buying catalogues, etc and nobody buys anything, i'm going to be quids down. also, what if someone doesn't pay you? do you lose money or can you just return the goods? one last question, when are the products delivered? i work odd hours and i'm not always in when the postman comes.

i'm a hardworker and would be very happy to put the work in. i already work outdoors (i'm a police community support officer) and i am used to knocking on people's doors alot and posting things, haha. obviously i'm really good with people too because of the job i do.

SL came round on Friday and said she would text me that night with the road(s) I could do - no response yet so will have to annoyingly chase however 2 questions:
how big a territory are they likely to give me? ( there are no avon people in my area at all)?
secondly has anyone worked out an optimum number of books per 100 houses say?
    Many thanks
    Macca

    Hi Macca,

Bit of a moveable feast but your initial territory could be anywhere ranging from 50 - 150 houses. All depends what's available near to you, how many customers Avon reckon there are in your area, how many reps you have locally and your credit limit. The more reps there are in your area then the fewer homes you'll be given initially.

As for covering 100 customers, all depends how you 'work it'. I always suggest to put half your customers on your current campaign and half on your back campaign. In each campaign you can easily get your books in/out twice (or even three times if you're quick) so for 100 customers you only actually need 20/25 books once you're organised.

Having said that..... your post refers to 100 houses.... you may only actually have 20 customers (if you're lucky  ) out of 100 houses, which nicely brings me back to needing to be an optimist! :rotfl:

Sounds like Avon could be perfect for you (or rather the other way round!)

How you run your Avon business is up to you (within Avon's T&Cs of course) but best advice is you only hand products over when your customers pay you. Cheques need to be payable to you (Avon won't accept cheques) but it's easy to just offer to return as/when they can pay you. Avon has a 90 day no quibble returns policy so you just apply to return any goods for credit prior to paying your bill to make sure you're never out of pocket.

The system to becoming an Avon rep is facilitated by your Leader actually supplying your books for your first two campaigns. There's a small set-up charge to cover that but provided you get £78 worth of orders (20% commission) in your first two campaigns then it costs you nothing and you even earn a little. Knack is to achieve £148 worth of orders every campaign (25% commission) and make the most of creative ordering.

thanks for the useful replies marsdencuckoo :)

one last question (and i promise you this is the last one, haha!), how are the products delivered to you? is it via royal mail?

the reason i ask is that i'm rarely in when the postman comes.

    You're very welcome.

Goods generally come via courier (small replacement parcels now come via Royal Mail) and you'll be asked if there's a Safe Location to leave the goods when you apply to be an Avon rep. If you don't have one then you get the option every campaign to put a different delivery address in i.e. work/neighbour/relative/friend. The couriers are very good and will do their best to accommodate when you are in. Once you've had your first delivery then all subsequent ones tend to fall within 10/20 mins - just depends on what sequence they deliver and amount of traffic, etc.

  • Hey all, getting myself in a bit of a pickle atm. I emailed CS last night as I still haven't received the Lotus Shield Moneymaker I ordered last campaign (backordered from cmp10). They only sent me 1 bottle (even stated that on the invoice which was lucky so there was no quibble when I phoned). The reply I have received states that they are NOW sending me the replacements and have credited me £3 and want me to send the 1 bottle I got back!!! Why can't they just send me 9 bottles!!! Anyway, my pickle is due to the fact that on my account they have credited me £3 and then for some reason charged me £3.50 for something else. From what I can tell from my account balance I am now 50p in debit (although the email said I was in credit, but there is no minus sign). I know I am not talking mig money but my order is dus to be submitted tomorrow and I think I read that Avon don't send out orders if there is an outstanding balance. So do I pay the 50p just in case? Also, I now don't know whether to order extra Lotus shields just in case they don't arrive (have 4 orders for them). Any advice gratefully accepted. Thanks

Your SL should be able to help as they can see your order on their own website. However, in an attempt to try and help you resolve it yourself....

Can you identify what the £3.50 charge is for? If it's for something you didn't receive then just apply online for credit re. that item (can't remember the no. of the code but it's listed - 'charged but not received' or something like that).

Alternatively, it may actually be a recharge for an item they reckon you didn't return on time. If so, afraid you'll have to ring CS again and/or email Avon (from your website) quoting the return bar code no. and they should then credit back the correct amount.

As for why they won't just send you 9 bottles, the computer system probably can't cope i.e. the MM is charged in two campaigns time and to click into that arrangement the order will have to show 10 bottles.

    Hope that helps.

    Ok quick query.
I missed my order for brochure 11 because a bereavement. Now my head is finally back in the game and I need to go and collect books I put out several weeks ago.
    Anyway question is:
I put out brochures 10 and 11. When I go online to add my orders it asks me if I want to do campaign 11 or 12. Ok I would like to do 11, but I thought I'd missed the deadline for this. Can I still do campaign 11 even though I'm weeks late? Which would mean I can do orders from my brochures 10 and 11.

    Arrgggh flip flops! Arrggghhh!

I'm waiting for 2 pairs of size 6/7 white toning flip flops.

A customer ordered some from C10 but there's a mark on the front of one of them so she's asked for a replacement. She paid £10.
Another customer has ordered them from C12 at £15.
Only one pair are (according to my invoice) on the way when they are back in stock.
What to do ... what to do ... ? !!

Avon have also credited two pairs to my account which just makes things even more confusing!!! I only have to return one pair. Is that a goodwill gesture? !!

Have just emailed my ASM for guidance as I am totally confused.

Hi MC, and thanks for your reply. I have no idea what the £3.50 charge is for but am going to give CS a call now and hope they can enlighten me
