    Creative ordering

How creative do you people go? I'm familiar with the obvious (even though it took me a few years to see the obvious!) ie. checking for better price in other catalogue, combining orders for freebee etc.

If someone ordered say, a body spray at full price, and they were on offer at 3 for £5 in other catalogue. Would you go with the offer & return 2 to Avon, or is that too cheeky?

I have to say I have no qualms about making as much as pos out of Avon as they are ruthless with making dosh out of us reps.

Interested in your thoughts, (particularly Marsden Cuckoo who seems to be Queen of Creativity!) Thanks.

You made me laugh! Sorry, been 'a bit busy' so haven't had chance to look in. Just catching up but my advice - for what it's worth is just go with your conscience.... Sometimes I see opportunities that even I don't take advantage of because at the end of the day Avon have to make a profit too. As you've now noted though, there are endless opportunities (depending on your order values, of course, i.e. the bigger your orders then the more opportunities you'll have) both with ordering and.... shhh.... with returns! ;)

    Hi

Wonder if somebody can help on advising how to use the NEW Damage repair split end mender. One of my friends asked me and I've got no idea how to use it.
    ALSO
Has the (red bottle) Lift it! Root Booster been discontinued now since all the new hair care products are out and what would you suggest as an alternative.

Hope somebody can help and sorry for all the questions.

    KZN

Still catching up so sorry if someone else has already replied. Gather you apply tje split end mender to damp hair i.e. newly washed. Does tend to 'encourage sales' ;) for the kids detangler if you have long hair! On the whole, think I like it but need more time to see great results.

As for the Lift it! Root Booster, they seem to have changed this to the silver bottle with purple label 'Root Boosting Tonic' - don't think I even ordered one but got one and they charged me for the Lift it!

Ref haircare - why oh why oh why have they discontinued the Heat Protection spray and not replaced it with a new product? That makes no sense at all. Have they decided that straightening your hair has gone out of fashion??

Back to Boots I go grrrr ...

    Thanks, hadn't noticed....

On the other hand, if they have discontinued it then it's bound to end up in Clearance at some point so view it as a purchasing opportunity! ;)

    Hi Everyone

Ive placed my 1st order today whoop! Im very excited managed around £220 so im pretty pleased with that for 1st campaign, ive just prepped all my next books which I found so much quicker using a stamp from vista print, I just had to do the delivery date so took less than half the time it did before.

Well done, Gempink, that's a really good first order and you'll feel like it's Christmas when you get your first delivery!

Prepping your next books in advance really does make it easier. It can help to put the next (prepped) book on the floor with the customer's order form so you can pile all the items they've ordered on top of the book. When you're confident that everyone's got what they wanted, bag things up then. Sometimes products have similar descriptions and (I know from personal experience) that it's a real pain trying to sort at the end if you're missing something or have a product 'similar but different' to the one ordered!

Plenty of other good advice earlier in the thread too about putting together your first order i.e. start allocating products to your smaller orders first and, of course, dooooo check off your delivery against your invoice (and especially the prices you've been charged by Avon) - if you've missed a 'special offer' and/or been charged more by Avon than the customer is expecting to pay then better to take it up with Avon and if they can't resolve, send it back and re-order if possible rather than make a loss. Yes, you'll have a disappointed customer at having a delayed delivery but you can always say it's 'temporarily out of stock - because it's been soooo popular :T - and it'll follow asap ;) )

Another tip, anything that actually IS temporarily out of stock, make out a new order form for it and keep it on one side. When it eventually follows, will make it a lot easier to remember who it actually is that wants it. Sounds obvious but as your orders get bigger you may find it easier to leave an 'aide memoire paper trail'.

    Enjoy and well done again!

Caught up now; sincere condolences lozza, really sorry that you and your family are going through such a bad patch.

And, Suzy, too.... what awful news, however, if it helps return him to good health eventually then it'll be worth it.

    Good luck to you both.

Hi, my discount is £21.89, I guess this is how much I earned???
The bottom line of my invoice says
Avon price Your cost Your discount
    Campaign 11 order total £120.74 £98.85 £21.89

I am just confused that the total on my order forms from customers is £124.95. The £120.74 includes my £7.50 admin fee too, as stated before!!! I checked the book and all the prices are correct on the order forms compared to the books, so I did not make a mistake on the order. :o

Not sure it's worth all the effort but know where you're coming from I used to do the same - now I just pile all the extra goods acquired from 'creative ordering' opportunities on one side and generally assume that monies in from customers will cover my invoice (and leave me with some goodies - and sometimes maybe even some cash! :) )

Other things to check i.e. to reconcile:

    * Were any products on special offer i.e. did anyone order 2 suncreams for £8 and then someone else order 1 or 2? Avon will automatically combine special offers for you provided you put in the right codes.

    * Have your customers totalled their order forms correctly?

    * Check your order of Colortrend products carefully - quite often they're on special combo deals and sometimes customers only order one item... ergo the system again will automatically combine the offers. (Last campaign I had a customer order a Colortrend lippy when it was actually free with another product. Maybe you picked up on that offer when doing your 'creative ordering'?)

    * Did you order anything from HT rather than the customer brochure i.e. the cream to powder foundation recently has been £10 in the customer's brochure but £4.60 (?) in HT

Lots of reasons why your figures may not reconcile with Avon's invoice but so long as you're on the right side then maybe it's not worth the hassle to find out exactly why? Obviously, each to their own though.....

Which Treasure beads did you get? Did you get the set of 3? I bought the snake bracelet and the set of 3 beads. The bracelet is nice but the tube bead from the bead set is awful!!! I have asked for a replacement so I can check if it was just a one off bad bead or if they are all like that!!! I love the little green bead though and the white one with pink dots on is nice (although darker than the image in the brochures). I am going to order some of the alphabet beads in HT14 and am hoping they are good quality as have a few friends interested. Has anyone had the alphabet beads through? What do you think? xxx

    Hi Sylvergrunge,
I got them all! Long pink bead ok. Fish bead is maybe a bit big? Elephant beads keeps swinging over so doesnt look like anything sometimes. On the whole really pleased and have one of each to demo. Getting the initial beads next. Will finally get the pendant when it comes out and the safari beads. See where my commission will be going!
