Well this has been an unusual Friday for me - usually I'm running around getting DD from nursery and then getting her ready to drop her off and trying to make sure I'm back in time for work.

Instead I've had a mega long shower, every inch of me has been buffed, defuzzed, tanned (FYI, not too keen on the ST Moritz from home bargains. The colour is decent, it's the spray that annoys me. It's kinda splattery, and I end up with darker patches of tan! :rotfl:), blow dried neatly, straightened and I'm just off to slather on the body lotion and polish my tootsies :D

I've finally finished a 50ml Boots body lotion and also a 50ml hand cream from a tropical gift set cant remember the name but the set was a gift for my birthday at least a couple of years ago.

WIBA - couldn't even if I wanted to as they dont make them any more ;) They were nice but not special.

Son has also gone back to Bristol to prepare for his second year at Uni this week (and even managed to get himself a job - YAY!!). He's taken loads of my Lush stuff with him, so when I've finished the odds and sods its a BS gift set from the Christmas before last and then only last Christmas's soap and glory sets to go :T
:naughty: Save money on toiletries: no new/duplicate items until I've used up all existing supplies

I've been to Boots twice this week and not bought a thing (I bought some hair dye but it was for my mum; plus i paid with advantage points) which I'm pleased about :) especially today as there's a couple of things I'm running out of - like cotton wall - but I figured I'd have just about enough to see me through until next week. The Boots I go to is located in a shopping mall and today was the first time since I can remember that I went there and didn't buy an entire thing from the whole place. The only problem is that I got so carried away with my not spending any money plan, that I forgot I actually need some dinner for tonight.....not helpful, but my intentions were rightly placed!

I've been on a freebie mission instead, so I've been going around asking for samples to sooth my cosmetic addiction and today I managed to get 2 Clinique moisturisers (good sized ones too!), 3 Chanel mascaras and a Lancome serum. The mascaras are especially handy as they're the new version of the one I've been using lately. So all in all a good trip I think :) Definitely a smugly today :D

    hi everyone
managed to use a up a Dove deodrant - only 2 left in the stash and one of those is partially used. At the point of giving up with a clarins tinted moisturiser, normally love thier products but this just feels waxy on my skin - maybe because its about 3/4 years old . obvioulsy this is from the bad old days of buying lovely products and then saving them for best!

got my eye on the new bobbi brown denim and roses pallette at the moment. thinks its pinkandwhites who has the very impressive stash of bobbi pallettes - very envious at the selection.
am off for 2 weeks, planning on having another clear out of products passed their best.

Me too! Not going to buy it though. I am not. I am not. I am not. I am not......

Trying this new tactic where I can only buy something if I've made enough money from selling something on eBay that will equal the value of what I want. We shall see how it goes!

A few use ups and no purchases this month, apart from mouthwash and dental floss for my son which doesn't count.

I used up a Mitchum solid deodorant. I found another one that has hardly been used. I would buy again, but my only reservation is that when it gets near the end it keeps breaking off and I lost patience and threw it in the bin. Next time I might try the roll-on. I've also used up my Herbal Essences shampoo and nearly finished the condtiioner. Not keen on any of the bits of shampoo I have left but am going to perservere at least until the end of the month. Getting low on handwash but am going to use shower gel if I run out, as I have loads of shower gel and not keen on all of them.
I found my solid Mitchum stick broke off as well! It is really annoying when they do that.

I've another UU to report - Avon Greek Seas Firming Body Gel which I bought a while ago when it was on sale (so I actually got a few bottles and still have another 2 to use up ;) ). It's great, but I think it has been discontinued so I won't buy it and will concentrate on the other body lotions I have.

I've had a UU today of something that I estimate has hung around for a few years! A Herbal Essences Intensive Conditioning Balm for dry/damaged/overstressed hair. I bought it as an intensive treatment for occasional use but it really was too heavy for my hair. It's only because of this challenge that I've managed to focus on using it up. I also used up another bath fizz when I soaked my feet in a bowl of water yesterday (something I do a lot of in the summer!). Will paint my toe nails later - have selected a Bourjois So Laque! in Bleu Violet. It's very purple. I bought this last year but this will be the first time I've used it.

Hello everyone. Two UUs up this week.

Elemis PCMC - WIBA? Yes it's my HG moisturiser and I have one left in my stockpile. It usually lasts three months but the tub I've just finished has only lasted about a month and a half. Have noticed that I've had to apply more of it lately. Will start supplementing it with an oil during the day as well to see if I can get the longevity out of it again.

Superdrug Vitamin E oil - WIBA? Yes. Can't believe how effective this is considering I've been using QVC salon brands in the past. I do have a tub of Elemis Bliss tabs to use first though.

The only things I have bought recently have been:-

A box of Clarol Root top up (I was lucky enough last year to find my colour reduced on clearance at Sainsburys and bought the whole stock but now that has gone (as well as my favoured shade!) so now I have to purchase as and when I need it.

A tube of Nair hair removal cream - bought this for my daughter as she's too young to shave and doesn't want the pain of waxing.

Don't think either of these count as they were necessary purchases and I didn't have any others in my stockpile. x
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Well hello again,

I don't think I've posted on here since February or March as I've been sticking rigidly to posting on the Grocery Challenge threads. I have however, maintiained the 'No more toiletries ...' challenge and apart from replacing completely finished things (like GDs toothpaste) I haven't bought a single duplicate, bogof or 'offer' since February which is pretty amazing. So a huge thank you to all on the thread who inspired me so much. :A

Just to clarify, my signature states 'none to 24/07/10' as I don't count if it's something that needs replacing after being completely used up and a satisfactory alternative doesn't exist in the stash. If however, I had bought any replacements as part of an 'offer' or bogof (which I haven't) then that would be the end of my running total. I hope that fits with everybody elses way of working.

I thought it would be useful to update the list I posted in February noting which have been used up, which have been replaced because of necessity and then the frightening quantity I still have left is apparent. :o
