Hiya,
We can't decide on a date. OH has been married before and not too fussed about much.
How did you decide on your dates? I don't want anything too far away, probably in the next 6 months or so
(unless you can plan a wedding in 3 months for oct?)

Well we decided on what year so that we'd have enough time to save etc.
And i knew i always wanted a summer wedding so that part was easy. The actual date was decided for us after we found our dream venue as that was the only weekend they had left in June! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
We picked our date of the 2nd October, because we normally go on holiday in the first week of October, so our holiday is now our honeymoon!
If it wasn't then, it would have been December, but with my bday being on the 22nd, OH's being on the 23rd, my Mum's being on Christmas Day and my daughters being on NewYears Day, it's already an expensive time of year what with Christmas too!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
we got engaged in may, wedding next july. we knew we needed at least a year to save up, when we worked out how much we would need to save a month so that brought us to next may, then we knew if it was spring/summer we wanted good weather, so that was july/august. ours is july 15th, last weekend not affected by football (reception at football ground). it went from sat 16th to friday 15th due to registrar. at the time it seemed a nightmare and i couldn't believe weekday wedding but then sat down and thought who actually can't come, parents retired, kids off and everyone else has over a year's notice!!! and evening do is a friday night - great stuff!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

you can plan a wedding in three months. we chose oct for a variety of reasons. neither h2b or i wanted a summer wedding. (albeit for different reasons.) 2nd oct is the day we met nearly 12 years ago and it will be the 12th anniversary the day we wed. we were originaly intending to marry last year but there were loads of family weddings and we wanted ours to be special for us as opposed to being caught up in everyone elses so we waited and coupled with the fact it fell on a saturday was a double bonus. are you looking civil or religious? if cofe, you don't need to give notice etc but you need banns read three weeks in a row and you must marry within 3 months of the last banns being read.

Ours was originally going to be feb but some of my family couldnt get time off then and march was the first dates they could get. So we wanted the very beginning, Dads birthday is 1st March so we went for 2nd. We are normally in Florida around then anyway so it seemed the perfect time to get married0

Ours was decided by the 15th January being the only Saturday our venue was available between now and October 2011! We knew we didn't want a hugely long engagement so it was perfect really:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0

Mine was going to be the day before my birthday next year but we put it off 12 months. It was also dictated by the venue because as we are doing something unusual we have to do it when the venue can fit us in and manage the clean up afterwards!!!No longer ...tobe! We knew ours would have to be second half of 2011 due to time to save. I'd have preferred a bit more summery time, possibly September but we're marrying at Chester Zoo and only having one room, not booking exclusive. To do non-exclsuive bookings you can't get a Saturday in high season so we had to choose between midweek or later in the year and really wanted a Saturday...that was the first date available.
First time around I got married on my birthday - nice idea at the time but horrible once he left! OH now though did help by proposing to me on my birthday last year0 -
