And Another Thing ...

Why do people post, 'I've PM'd you.' when the recipient will know they've been PM'd?
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

i imagine because not everyone checks their PMs??

Personally, I am always so excited someone wants to talk to me, that I check them immediately, but I imagine the more popular MSEers get bored with the PMs dropping into their inbox...

    We could PM each other!!!

It is also a faff having to empty your inbox without a useful preview pabe to see what each one is without opening it (unless the popular MSEers have one of those?).

I can remember my first PM. I was so excited. :j It was Wig. I had no idea how what to do with it. :p How do I respond  The stress of it all. :D

  • I always think it's very exciting getting a pm - it's like someone passing you a note at school. I always feel very flattered that someone wants to pm me.
It's also a tad elitist and exclusive - a pm is something private so not everyone is "in the know".
I think generally people say they've pmd someone on a public post because often the topic isn't appropriate for continued public perusal, but a poster wants to follow it up.

Why do people post, 'I've PM'd you.' when the recipient will know they've been PM'd?

Because everyone else in the thread needs to know how helpful/caring/friendly you are, of course. :D
