Today was a designated spend day (due to Council Tax D/Debit hitting my bank account), so last night I meal planned to the end of the month (as best I can, 'cos it's always subject to change at weekends depending on whether I'm at home or at OH's - in which case I have to find something easy for DS to make for himself)

After getting my 'on road' running shoes (plus trousers, tops and water bottles) which come from an 'not included budget', I did most of the food shopping at Mr T this morning - and also picked up loads of fruit (fresh and frozen) that wasn't on my list as I'm trying to make myself eat more (sadly lacking in my ability to manage '5 a day', generally being lucky to manage 2 portions with both of those being veg). Also picked up some much needed underwear (2 pieces of sports underwear and a pack of trainer socks from my 'keep fit' budget, and a white multi-way bra as I've struggled to find one - with my black one being useless under a number of my tops ;)) so I can deduct £18 from grocery bill bringing it down to £20.72

Then picked up milk, bread and frozen sliced mushrooms as I left work. Total (before staff discount, as I pretend I don't get it and put the money into my sealed pot) came to £5.07

As I got home I realised I'd forgotten the tortillas I need for early next week, so called back in just after 7:30pm (on my way home from a 3.5 mile run with the local club - though I admit to 5 very short walks in the first 1.5 miles, as that part was all uphill and steep in places). But this was always going to be dangerous as it's getting into 'serious Whoopsie time'.... and the 82p tortillas ended up costing me £4.08 :rotfl: The extra £3.26 netted me goods worth £14.85 - including £5.81 worth of sliced silverside for £1.08, £2.62 worth of sliced hickory smoked chicken for 52p, and £2.49 worth of honey roast salmon slices for 49p :T

Shouldn't need anything else except bread and milk (and probably ice-cream) this month. Currently £23.98 under my GC target for the month - but £11.39 overspent on my 'year to date' target for the end of July after ending June £35.37 over the point at which I wanted to be - having spent exactly £30 today (after I round up each bill to the next 10p and put the coins into my sealed jar).

But my 'keep fit' budget took a serious hammering - with just under £134 being spent  It was worth it though, as the new clothing meant I 'looked part of the group' while we were out tonight (colour scheme matched the other female runners), and the new footwear is most definitely better suited to road work than my 'off road' ones are.

And £4 spent from my 'anything else' budget for my other underwear.

So, all included, a fairly serious spend day on top of the D/Debit :o

Next 'designated spend day' (D/Debit due out) isn't until 26th - so I've now got quite a challenge to keep as many of the next 10 days clear of any spend as I possibly can

ETA: Also filled my fuel tank today (at Mr A, which is just around the corner from Mr T, as it was 2p/litre cheaper there and I didn't spend enough in Mr T for the money off fuel coupon). That's another £45.16 if I remember correctly - but need to check if this tank is being charged to my 'regular' budget or my 'social life' one (I keep track of mileage done to visit OH/trips out with him, and when that total exceeds the tripometer since my last fill-up it gets charged to 'social life')

    Happy birthday 3dogs!!!!

Rubber accroutaments, semi-naked men and lots of birthday cake..........sounds like my kind of party :T:T:T:eek:;)

NSD 7 today. Thanks for the tips for the child tax credit. Received my award notice for this tax year today but it's wrong so they have been informed and I will be transferring the money over to my savings account tomorrow! Not expecting it to be much different but I might as well make the most of it!

Cheryl, big spend but I bet you felt good running in that new gear :)

Thanks for everyone who let me know about Niddy. Shocking.......some people are just horrible. This thread is so friendly...........:)

And who is already talking about that big spending season that's coming up ..........NNNNNOOOOOOooooooooo don't do it

The shoes alone were £50 - and that's £3 cheaper than my 'off road' ones were

Then got 2 tops (both bright pink, which is the 'alternative' colour for lady members - the official club colour is actually royal blue. Just felt the pink makes me more visible for road work, when I'm trying to cross roads without being hit, especially when it starts getting darker at night ;))

And three pairs of trousers - two long (plain black) and one knee length (black, with small flashes of bright pink to the side just above the kneee)

Finished off with 2 sports bras, a pack of trainer socks (6 pairs) and 2 water bottles (the ones with a hole in the middle to make them easier to carry while running).

Not sure about 'feeling good' (other than I can get into the size 12 trousers instead of my normal 14s), but felt more a part of the club - plus I think it made me want to make more of an effort with the run, as to passing motorists it looks more like I'm a "runner" than "someone playing at being a runner" (have been wearing standard cotton shorts and a vest type T-shirt)
And who is already talking about that big spending season that's coming up ..........NNNNNOOOOOOooooooooo don't do it
Never mind talking about it - I've already started shopping for it !!!

But not as much as I normally would have by this point of the year...... though that's pretty much due to time constraints (all being spent at work or with OH ;)). I have a week off work at the end of November, so will have to get the rest done then (unless I see/pick up suitable bits on standard shopping trips in the meantime)
