    Have been busy baking today.

Made ginger Twinks this morning before work - though I was tight for time getting lunch and into my uniform after getting them out of the oven.

Melted 2x100g bars of chocolate to put on them this evening (after work, a 5km run with the club, and making and eating tea), based on that was what I used for just over half the batch of the coconut ones I made last Friday - but because I spread it on the flat bottoms instead of spooning it over the rough tops I didn't use much more than half of it :o

Between tasting when they came out of the oven and after adding the chocolate (and then discovering DS did the same!), my batch of 52 is now down to 43......

So a quick think as to what I could use the rest of the chocolate for, and I got Jo's Florentines on the go (I like a certain luxury brand which has chocolate drizzled on the top). They came out of the oven bang on midnight, and are now in the fridge to try and get the chocolate to set enough to pack them into a box to take to OHs tomorrow - or, rather, after work tonight 'cos it's already Friday ;)

(The rack they're now on wouldn't take all of them, so I've had to have a taste - and DS has demanded he gets at least one as well. So that's a maximum of 18 going to make it into the car with me)

I also cut (more like strimmed :rotfl: ) DSs hair while the Florentines were in the oven, as he demanded I do it before I 'disappear' to OHs. Gave him some stick about his weekend plans if he's that desperate to have it cut ;)

Yee haa! I exceeded my target yesterday with another NSD taking my running total up to 20 NSD out a pledged 19!

Unfortunately, I'm out playing this weekend so Sat and Sun will be expected spend days; however, if I'm well behaved tomorrow I might be able to squeeze one more NSD out of this month.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

    Good morning all!

Well done to all you guys reaching their targets, I think we've all done pretty well this month.

On the subject of pusskins - I'm still worried about him. The vet gave him Metacalm on Tues and I had to give him a dose once a day. Well, the cat was sick Wed morning,Wed lunchtime and Thurs morning. So I went back to vet yesterday, he thought the cat had had a reaction to the Metacalm so changed the anti inflammatory. ( £20 for Metacalm and £10 for the new one:eek:). Got up this morning cat been sick again all over the windowsill and my new curtains:eek:
He doesnt seem "poorly" as he's still leaping about as if there's nothing wrong, but I had to do a urine test and there's still blood. Between that and the sickness, I'm really concerned. I'm going back to vet this morning to see what he says. I'm wondering whether he's been poisoned with something, there are a lot of gardens here and some of the products people use on their gardens are not very pet friendly.

Also re the curtains - the label says DRY CLEAN ONLY but they're only made of polyester lined with cotton - do you think I should risk a machine wash? The staining is on the lining and I dont think dry cleaning will get it out. I'd appreciate any thoughts. Sorry for so many questions at this time of the morning !

Got my lovely Ringtons tea yesterday, so I think I'll go and have a cup and try to calm down!

    Have a lovely day all:)

Thanks Spoon! Just changed it to water! :o I am learning A LOT about cats this week! From JintyB's poor sickly (boy) kitty's cystitis to the fact that you don't feed cats milk! (I actually should have known that second one, because when I was feeding Jack, my friend's cat this weekend, I just had to feed him water....) Is it just an old wives' tale that cats like milk?

Hi Jo... no, cats love milk, but milk is no good for cats at all - damages their teeth and gives them the runs.....

Bit like nice edible things and humans really, we love 'em but no good for us:D:D:D

    Hope you're well today?

    Hi jintyb
Really sorry about pusskins, they're such a worry when they're poorly as they can't tell you what's wrong (been there myself many a time). Hope the new meds sort him out for you - ((((hugs))))

Re the curtains, try dabbing the stains with cold water to loosen them to start - don't soak them as that might shrink them. Then maybe try a woolen wash in the machine - low temp, short wash, that should work.

Try the old style board, someone on there should be able to give you some advice again - probably much better than me actually.

Good luck and hugs again about pusskins
