Another new day to add to July: The No Spend Day

Hi all, Yesterday was a sort of spendy day, took back a pair of trousers that I'd bought last week and had decided I didn't actually want but I did swap them for a pair of ... wait for this...
a pair of size 16 jeans.
OK OK 16 is not tiny but when you'd been a size 22 at the start of the year it's bl**dy amazing. So I'm going to count it as a nsd as the money had already been spent last week.
Taking my car in to get the brakes sorted today, been looking for a garage and this one was recommended to me by my osteopath so he should be ok. Good news is he's £40 cheaper than another garage near work AND almost £200 cheaper than the main dealer.0 -
Got the Job. Start Monday, 2 night shifts, we won't be any better off finacially but its a start to get me back to work and hopefully in the future off of benefits, hope that makes sense.

Congratulations on getting the job TMVen, hope it goes well, keep us posted!:beer::beer:moneypenny2k wrote: »Hi all, Yesterday was a sort of spendy day, took back a pair of trousers that I'd bought last week and had decided I didn't actually want but I did swap them for a pair of ... wait for this...

Well done Moneypenny - most of us who have struggled with our weight will totally relate to your triumph - I felt like cheering for you when I read that! Hope you can hear me from Jockland!:T
Good morning everyone - still bloomin muggy here, too hot to sleep but at least I dont have to go to work and try to look sensible today;)
Got no 12 yesterday, so well chuffed, and yes, Spoon the tenner is still there!:) Grocery shop today, store cupboard staples required, flour, pasta, sugar etc. I restrict food shopping to two days a week, Mondays and Thursdays, I havent been able to do any less.
As regards treats for being frugal - I have to resist every time I go to the shops, thats why I try to avoid them! Usually my treat is flowers - whoopsied if possible. I've had brill bargains on these at A$da - my current flowers were a massive bunch reduced from £10 to £3 and I bought them last Thurs, and they're still going strong! Im going to get walnuts today to make Jo's Florentines - have got all other ingredients. Im going to make them tomorrow, its my Mum and Dad's anniversary tomorrow - 55 years - so I'll make those to take to theirs for a pressie. We dont do big pressies( thankfully);)
Other than food shopping, I just need to get buttons for my baby cardi - it's finished and sewn up so once I get the buttons it will be done, hooray!:D
Have a lovely day everyone -I'll be back later !
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
NSD 8 was yesterday, woot! Not really an exciting day - from the office to the dentist then home. I'm getting close to my target though.
I'm hoping today will be another NSD, as its my birthday maybe everyone will just buy me things :A

Well today will be another day of boredom and doing nothing - not sure I'm cut out for 7 weeks holiday!:p
I may go swimming later using my Student card before it expires and then it only costs £1 (the lady always looks at me like I'm stealing from them though as I must the oldest student they get!).
So it may be a NSD or a LSD - depends on how bored I get.
Good luck to everyone else.0 -

Too many, Spoony! But they don't count because....I say so.
Had to give a talk yesterday evening at a small businesses event, it ran from 4pm through to 8pm and then the speakers were taken out for a drink to say thank you, which was nice, but it was quite late. Had a nice surprise when I got home though as hubby had made dinner and it was his yummy sausage casserole (done with couscous)
And the best part was....yesterday was an NSD!! Yippeeee!! So that take me up to No.9 I think! :money:
Congratulations on the new job, TMVen! :j

I came in today and had a muffin on my desk from work folk. Very sweet, and much preferred to ritual singing and cake lighting humiliation! And afternoon snack sorted too
