    i kinda doubt it alex!
  • Morning everyone, another day in the office. Still haven't found my boss to hand my notice in - 53 to go:

    Me today:
Beige v necked jumper with puffed shoulders (H&M aeons ago)
Brown massively wide-legged trousers (Topshop seconds via Ebay also aeons ago)
Wooden pendant with a stag on it on a long silver chain(a recent Etsy purchase- I'll try and put a photo in the usual place later, it is very chunky but very lovely)
    Brown brogues (River Island)
Turquoise glasses (glasses direct - I am loving brown and turquoise at the moment)
Navy duffel coat (Fat Face duty free - a present from the Aussie last year)
Basket bag (because I've bought a packed lunch in) (Charity shop - probably Oxfam)

I also have my hair in a side ponytail, being a 32 year old divorcee should not stop you dressing like a teenage skateboarder :)

  • Morning

It is too cold today. I have layered up. Bootleg jeans, maroon (ish) cable knit jumper dress which is too short to wear as a dress, black cardi and a lonhg sleeve t shirt under the dress. Silver bangles and brown biker boots. I don't really match today but it's all quite neutral shades so I don't clash either.

I've just been to Tesco and seen the bag in beige. It's a great size but I think it's suede effect and not actually suede, which makes sense with the price. i didn't check the label so I'll see when mine arrives.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Morning girls. After busy weekend I was sick yesterday and still feel wooly today. Thus clothes need to be decent but easy. Black maxi, long sleeved t and yucky fake uggs.

On a brighter note I was given a beautiful made sleeved tweed cape this weekend. Its a little too big for me, and not brilliantly flattering consequently, but its warm and clean and beautiful and I expect to get a bit of wear out of it. :)

I'm 37 on Saturday and it doesn't stop me!
  • Hello all, I joined in with you for a bit at the beginning of the year (when we had all the snow! Everyone was wearing wellies every day!) but stopped posting, must have gone back to my slovenly ways. I've been trying to take a bit more pride in my appearance though lately and have been following a few of your blogs and feeling all inspired.

Problem is, now that the weather's turned I can feel myself slipping back into bootcut black trousers and black boots for work and I feel a bit frumpy! I was OK through the summer as I have a couple of pairs of skinny black trousers which are much more flattering which I could wear with sandals, but now that it's cold and rainy I only really have my flat, black/brown/grey knee boots and they don't go with my skinnies. What do you all do in the winter? What footwear could you suggest that would fit with my skinny trousers but also keep me warm and dry? Brogues are about all I can think of but then I'd have a sock quandary as well!

    Sorry for the ramble :o

Brogues would be great - they cover up most of the foot so if you stuck to black socks or those useful tan coloured pop sock type things then you'd be fine.

Or skirts and tights might be a better option? It would be something a bit different from the black trouser option and would hopefully give you a lot more choice when it came to footwear.

I sympathise though cos I have about 2 pairs of shoes that are actually waterproof :( Clearly I don't shoe shop with my sensible head on.

ps - love your blog btw :)
  • Thanks Alex, love yours too and I'm not just saying that because you said it first! :D I do have a few skirts and dresses which I wear quite a lot but I do like my trousers for ease some days too. Might go brogue shopping after payday then, not certain how they'll look on my size 8s!! :o

    They'll look great :)

Erm, half the heel has fallen off my left boot. I hope superglue will fix it or I'll have to bin them because I don't think it's something a cobbler can repair :(
  • :( As in the heel has snapped? I doubt they can fix it. A friend of mine had some very expensive pair of Italian leather boots and took them to a cobbler when the heel broke - the result was a very clumpy and un-Italian replacement heel!
