Sorry! Didn't mean to SHOUT!, £10 per month seems a better deal than current £50! Also saves £250 for a decent box?

I don't really follow your maths. Humax Foxsat HDR is available for under £200.You'll pay £120 a year, every year, for Sky+. So the Hummy will pay for itself in less than 20 months.

And then of course you can sell the Sky+ box on eBay to offset the Hummy cost.

It depends on the make / model, look underneath the Sky Receiver for the information.

More like £40, I sold one a few months ago and got almost £50 the bought a Foxsat HD Box for £219 from John Lewis and use that. They come with a two year warranty so at the very minimum I can get it fixed within two years saving quite a bit over basic Sky+ costs.
These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!

I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!
