Use old Sky box as a freesat?

Any advice on discontinuing sky+, and viewing as freesat on same box?

What advice do you need? Works fine for me (although I get stv instead of itv even though I now live back in england)
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Just remember that you lose the recording facilities on the box once you cancel.

Just cancel your sub and leave your card in - you'll be watching FreesatfromSky.

Freesat is not the same as Freesat from Sky. Very similar channel line up, but not identical.

No need to SHOUT! The Sky+ functions are disabled once you end your sub, it will no longer record or playback. You will have to pay £10 a month to retain those features-or just get a proper Freesat box and get them for no ongoing cost.

The only option to keep the recording facility is to pay £10 per month to sky.

What happens if the card is taken out of the box for about 3 months so that it misses the kill signal? Then reinsert after 3 months, will that enable the "+" functionality (as the card will still be alive)??

Sorry! Didn't mean to SHOUT!, £10 per month seems a better deal than current £50! Also saves £250 for a decent box?
