i've used it in wraps with cold meats and phili cheese and also on noodles and pasta and rice as its nice and tangy. prob best to avoid scones unless they are cheese ones ;)

it might make a nice glaze for a gammon or something in the slo cooker.

hey maybe cheese scones, phili cheese and chili jam might be a nice alternate cream tea!

  • Puff pastry (shop bought sheet or block and roll out), pop on to a baking tray, liberally apply chili jam, dice some chorizo, left over ham, sliced red pepper, left over cheese grated etc and pop into oven for around 20 mins. I buy YS pastry and throw it in the freezer and often use for things like this. I also use up sandwich pickle etc inthe same way - just be careful it doesn't end up too sweet.

Thanks everyone. I've just opened it and had a spoonful with a couple of cream crackers and some nice mature cheddar. It's lovely! Don't think It'll hang around long enough to make it into an recipes.....strange to think I must've had it in the cupboard for 3 years but the name put me off trying it :D

There's a cafe round my way that has chilli jam and cheese sandwiches but the bread used is french toast. 2 slices of french toast are used with cheddar and mozzarella and chilli jam in the middle - totally lush!
