Does anyone know if you gat car tax discount on a second vehicle. I currently obtain 50% discount on a car via being allocated PiP mobility.

I'm afraid not, sorry! You only get discount for one vehicle.

Spam.com is an online retailer of fine tins of pork product. The board and staff has hearing impaired individuals from New York. They offer special discount (%12) on their entire website. You must enter their special discount code for the disabled persons (spammer - mike779) to have this applied at the checkout.

Spam is spam, and in this case handing over your bank account details and other personal info is most definitely not a good idea, particularly an unknown 'domain' in an unknown country. serendipity2706 and any others beware !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If in doubt check with the MSE team in the TRHS of this page.

Hiya Lindylou, it will take some time to read through the whole thread, so if I were you, I would bookmark it. Whenever you read something relevant, make a note in a notebook kept for this purpose. That way, you can have details to hand easily.

You can also ask if carers go free/discounted if you go on a day out. Take proof (DLA letter and CA letter) just in case you need them.

If you have a carer's centre, they might be able to give you some information and support as well.

Finally, welcome to MSE. There are some great posters on here, friendly and informative. I value the opinions of many people I have never met, but 'know' from the keyboard.

  • My 6 year old daughter receives DLA and I was told about the CEA Card which lets carers into the cinema for free. I applied for it but was told that the age limit for this is 8, does anyone know why that is? It seems unfair that I have to pay full price for 2 years when she is receiving DLA. I emailed them on a number of occasions asking the reason why but no-one replied.
  • Does anything you have to send with the application have her date of birth on it?
    If not......

Because a six year old would need to be accompanied regardless of disability. You would not send your six year old to the cinema alone (that is why people get a free carer ticket, as it puts them at the same financial place if they weren't sick).

I just found out about Council Tax excemption for disabled people. You can get upto 100 percent off your council tax bill depending on how many others live with your. One your own then 100 percent. Living with 3 others then get 25 percent!"

How do you get 100% off???
I live on my own and they came round to look at the property..as it has a wet room the council tax band got moved one band down.
This is the nirm as I understand it, if you are disabled and property has been adapted in any way that fits in with their requirements then after home visit you get band changed, and then like anybody else, as a single person you can get 25% discount.

Never heard of 100% off unless terminal!
