The odd .02 and .03 here and there from day to day really doesn't mean anything. The important thing to look at is the general trend from month to month. And the £ has been slowly strengthening vs the euro since end February. I don't see any reason for it to peak until after the summer.

Remember it was just a week ago that it was at an 18-month high.

The rate is just getting worse and worse at the moment! Last week the 'tourist rate' peaked at 1.19 euros to the pound, now it's down to 1.15. I'm going away next Thursday - should I buy today or wait till just before and hedge my bets? Wish I'd just bought when it was 1.19 euros. With a £500 spend, I'm already 20 euros (about £17) out of pocket. Grrrr!

These threads are a waste of space, nobody on this planet knows which way currency rates will go.

£ still slowly sliding, but so much better than this time last year if indeed that's any consolation. Last year it was 1.04 when we exchanged :(
