I'm just back from my holidays too! Freezer is looking low but should have enough till the end of the month.Picked up loads of vegetarian meal ideas from the hotel we were at.Our family are committed carnivores but the veg section at this place was fabulous.Oh well back to the endless washing.Catch up with everyone later."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Good Morning all - Somebody mentioned Tesco value toilet rolls recently been on them ages and they are no different to others just alot cheaper. On the very plus side Mr S sent me some £4 of £20 shops recently and MR T accepts them... very nice of him : ). Am glad my month finishes this week as I run pay day to pay day... bitover but put that down to barbeque and stuff we would not normally buy... £200 seems easy but gets harder when u have people round... I think we will finish on £219 instead of £200 so will be £19 out... Hey ho better luck next month.... Still not too bad and had to buy a chicken for the freezer which had been reduced to £2 BARGAIN... Also guys try MR T's value Pork Joint for Sunday lunch I buy one its about £3 cut it in half and you have 2 sunday meals. Anyway no more shopping for me until payday on Friday... will be splashing out on a few bits that are needed for kitchen to achieve my total clubcard points so I can get 2 wristbands for Black pool Pleasure beach... have an offer where if I spend £25 on homeware I get 500 bonus points and I only need 200 more : ) Plus I need a keetle as I dropped ours... whoops. Bargains galore folks.... Happy being frugal and heres to a more successful August for me : ):A Want2Bdebtfree

Having to buy food at work again today because I forgot to buy lunch stuff at the weekly shop (really don't know where my head is this month!)- we still don't have an oven/hob because of a completely useless landlord so improvising is more difficult.
Will buy some sandwich meats on the way home to avoid having to pay through the nose for lunches for the rest of this week.

They should take the magazine back just grovel and explain you had not realised you had already bought it. Mr T's toilet rolls are fabby. Try the value liquid soap and hair conditioner youwill be amazed.
Further to this when to Mr A at lunchtime as I needed birthday cards and got six to go in my draw and what a nice selection all cost 25p each... WHY speand a fortune on a card when you can get eually nice ones now at a fraction of the cost... Not even being frugal just thrifty.....:A Want2Bdebtfree

Back from Mr S and managed to spend £81!!!
I have effectively done 2 weeks shopping in one though including cleaning stuff and household bits, loads of laundry stuff, enough vegetarian stuff to stock the fridge and freezer for a couple of weeks at least, meat and fish. I also seem to have bought enough fresh stuff (fruit and veg and bread and dairy) to last at least a week and a half.
The freezer and cupboard are now also bulging with tins, pasta, rice etc.
I now need to meal plan properly to make sure we use up the fresh stuff effectively and not end up wasting it.
I'm at home now for 6 weeks (teacher) and so only have 1 packed lunch a day to make for OH. I aim to use up leftovers and fridge bits and pieces for me during the day to make sure that I use everything up.
I only have about £15 ish left in the budget for next week but will hopefully just need fruit, milk etc so it may be just doable? Fingers crossed.:o:o0 -
aargh lost rack of the gc a bit but I know I have £6.59 in my purse to last me to next friday!! I think I should only need milk and fruit - possibly some potatoes but I'm gonna try really hard!
On the plus side I had 2 nsd's over the weekend!!
On fri I had a voucher for £5 off £50 which I used to stock up for next month so have spent £59.44 of my August budget already!!
have just cooked a vat of spag bog (some for tonight and the rest to freeze) tomorrow I'm showing my friend how to make cheesecake and flapjacks so should be a nsd tomorrow.FebGC

Hya, back from hols too, and still washng clothes for the second day...due to put the last load in the machine in a mo...with rain forecast for most of the rest of the week, I wanted to get it all out ouf the way (and into the ironing pile ).
Got a Mr T delivery @ 12 today...£102!!!! This did include a year's worth of filters for my Brita jug (£32) ...on offer and cheaper than anywhere else I can find....got to justify it somehow!!
So will be meal-planning later to try and stay within budget for this month. I have included all our holiday food/house-stuffs, and with both boys home (+GF once in a while)...it's going to be tough!!!
£41.91 left for the rest of the month....manageable???

Got a text just before lunch - my sis and her BF are coming to dinner tonight! We had issued the invite last Thurs, but heard nothing and presumed it was a no. So DH and I went into M&S at lunch (we often meet for a walk at lunch) and got a pack of southern fried chicken pieces (€5) and a lemon tart (€6 something), which added to the bag, was just over €12 in total. Have spuds and potatoe wedges mix at home, and french beans (from garden) and a tin of corn will be the veg. And I already had cream too. I wouldn't normally cop out of cooking for visitors, but we really had nothing to stretch meat-wise and it's a MONDAY - and a wet miserable one at that.
But I am also getting lots done at work so I may get out on time after all!!GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
