have not been grocery shopping since last thurs. I have nsd every day on groceries. If we dont have it we dont eat it!! And if the Girls eat all the treats over the weekend then that means no more for their lunch boxes etc. I do bake and freeze half so usually I can pull a suprise out the freezer during the week.
The Girls often need money for school "stuff!" and DD'S 2&3 Pay as they swim each week £2 each. If the dont swim they dont pay so not too bad for club fees. Bus fare is £10 each a week that will be £30 in Sept!!!
However I collected DD1 from school club tonite and her polo shirt was positivly grey against her friends I think it must have got put in the wash with coloureds so I freaked and went to shop and bought OXY WATSIT!!!! the pink one , oh my I would never buy that, but I was soooooo embarrased. Have offending shirt in soak better work for £4.49:eek:
going to post next weeks menu plan

Spent £1.45 on apples today. They were £2.00 for a bag in C*-*p (shocking price I thought!), but part of them was paid for with a voucher. I had £15 in divi vouchers, and spent most of it on a box of wine (£14.45), and the change from that helped pay for the apples.
Was on my way to visit DH in hospital, and he's come to expect me to bring him an apple every day, and there were none left in the fruit bowl. I take him other things - chocolate, sweets, bananas etc., - but it's always the apple that he looks for.Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
hi big thanks :T for the congrats
today i spent £7.62 in mr s and then this afternoon i popped into mo**isons for a change as i took the kids to mcd's. Was quite surprised with there prices and they seemed to have a quite a lot of things for a £1 so i may have to shop there more often. Anyway i spent £13.75 there so now have to go and update sig. Have a good evening everyoneI will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0 -
Evening, people. Lovely day again here (if you include it being grey and overcast and just a bit muggy
) Ah, well. First major shop of the month out of the way and it wasn't as painful as I thought it was going to be. A few more bits went into the trolley than planned *grumbles* but it didn't come to as much as I thought it would. Small blessings. Anyway I spent another £43.68 tonight, so I'll add that to my total and update my signature now. Hoping that next week is better!

I caved in, i saw the kitkat chunky offer on the grabbit board and as i was going to buy milk and bacon, i ended up with 3 packs of kitkat chunky's - one for dad, but that means 18choc bars for me :S
Spent £6.50 - so updated signiture, went off the meal plan this eve as have been decorating the kitchen and stopped at 10pm, so was scrambled eggs on toast for a quick bite! back to it tomorrow, and hopefully back to the NSD's! i shouldnt need anything as dad's garden provided me with tatties, peas, raspberrys, goosgogs, lettuce and toms. . .
still within the weeks budget... just...
have a good thursday all!

Morning all I have had quite a few NSDs this month as I am being very frugal as I am off on my holidays in 5 weeks time so I am making the most of my fully stocked freezer. But today i have to go to Sainsbobs to buy some essentials only I have made out my list and if it comes to £20.00 I have a two pound voucher off to be used up today so fingers crossed.
reading through the posts we all seem to be doing very well and belt-tightening seems to be the order of the day this month.I know a lot of you will be having children breaking up for summer holidays this month and that will mean they are permanantly in the kitchen saying 'Mum I'm hungry' When mine were small I would spend at least a day before they broke up cooking up a storm of stuff and filling every tin I could find with cakes and cookies .I had always thought crisps were a complete waste of money and so rarely bought them, as the kids would eat a packet then 10 minutes later say they were hungry again. We would have lots of picnics to the local parks ect ,but the children had to help make what we were going to eat ,and each had their own picnic bag with what they thought they could eat in it. As much fruit as I could get them to eat was what I always insistant on.Then if the picnic was eaten only then as a treat could they have an ice cream. My two grew up rarely eating crisps and my grandchildren are the same. What's not on the menu they won't miss.
We always did one day out and the next day at home so they knew we would be out on say Mon Wed Fri at the parks and Tuesday and thursday was Mums cooking days .Stocking up on Squashes before the holidays helped as well. Now I am past all of that but I still have little ones as my three youngest grandson aged 10.9 & 6 like to go to the parks and have picnics. As their Dad works from home and Mum also works its like de ja vue except I have little lads with enormous appetites.but they are a lot of fun and we all have a good time .I belong to English Heritage and the boys are on my tickets so we often go to castles and places which don't cost me anything and apart from the food we take the kids have a great time.last year Dover castle put on some great things for children to do on visits and the English Heritage membership has paid for itself over and over again.I am quite lucky that I live in kent and only about 30 minutes from the coats so lots of beach trips are on the agenda this year with paddling and sand castle making.I am planning our trips out already to keep them amused and they all make a little diary to say where they have been and what they have done.I get three scrapbooks from Wilkinsons and they each fill them in on rainy days
Well now I'm off for my breakfast then I will be going to do battle with the shops Have a good day everyone0 -
