Also its my sis in laws birthday this month, and twice now I have bought a box of chocs to give to her, and twice now me and OH have snaffled them! might just get her a plant, instead!
DS did that with the Easter Eggs he bought for my GDs last year - so this year he didn't buy any until a couple of days before he was going to be passing them over..... and still had to go and replace them :rotfl:

Just back from the weekly shop....

    Mr S £27.33
    FF £4
    Greengrocers £6.13
    Poundshop £1
    Aldi £1.28

    Total = £39.74

That did include a few treats (pop, doughnuts, cheap sweets and crisps) and some toiletries for hols so not too bad I suppose?
My budget for the week is £45 so £5 or so under and we don't need anything else until we go on hols next Saturday.

    Fingers crossed!

PS. For those that are interested I include food, non alcoholic drinks, dog food, toiletries, cleaning and laundry stuff and packed lunches. We are 2 adults and a greedy little dog.

    Morning peeps!
Welcome to our newbies cheerleader.gif we're a friendly bunch here and always someone around to answer questions so don't be afraid to ask.

    bevan840, thinking of you

doelani, you could freeze the extra milk if you won't use it up in time, I always have one or two plastic bottles in the freezer ;)

Winchelsea, I like your ideas of checking the fridge each night and storing food in jars instead of plastic, I have a useful collection of jars, including Bon Maman and kilner, I'm going to be doing this in future :T

I've had a few nsd's this week, but spent £16 at the village c00p yesterday; I'm not having another online order delivered until I've used up some stock, I keep buying bits and pieces and the freezer never gets any emptier! means I saved myself about £60 this week, but will have to balance that against what I really need to get as the local c00p is much more expensive so will keep it to a minimum. I'm hoping a spend next week of not more than £10 ... watch this space :D

Have a great weekend everyone whether you're doing, hope the weather is good for you

I'm glad it's not just me who does that then.....:o

Hiya Honeybee - I'm only on my second month on the challenge and I failed miserably last month, but at least I knew how much I had spent (just spent too much;)) Anyway I include food, dog food, kids school lunches (when they [STRIKE]won't[/STRIKE] don't take packed), petrol, basic toiletries like handwash and shampoo, cleaning stuff, bin bags, cafe snacks if I'm out.

Today I went to the greengrocer and it cost me £7.40 for celery, potatoes, 450g apricots, 2 bananas, 3 nectarines and 3 peaches. It is the only greengrocers near me and I have to say that it is so much cheaper in the supermarket so I probably won't go there again. I also went to the bakery and got 12 bread rolls and 2 sausage rolls and that came to £4.10 - again sooooo much more expensive than the supermarket. Then I met a friend and it was my turn to buy the coffees and so my total spend this morning has been £16.90 I really need some storecupboard essentials but will hold off until Monday. Am hoping to have a NSD tomorrow.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

hi all well my month started on thurs (but I got my monthly delivery from Mr T's on Tuesday as it's cheaper delivery!). My delivery came to £110.

I then sent DH to Mr T's on his way home from work last night to get some coleslaw and cold meat for dinner as it was too hot for me to be cooking Lasagne. That all came to £10 (small tub of creamy coleslaw, 2 pack of cooked meat, 2 packs of red leicester (my favourite) and some bananas. Plus calpol and anti-histamines - I'm not sure whether to include these though?

Today i then went to the butchers to get some burgers for dinner and bacon for breakfast (pancakes with banana bacon and maple syrup!!!), and then got some milk and apples. so another £8 spent.

Oh no just remembered DH went to asda to get nappies and crisps and also came home with pudding (although it was whoopsied and very nice!!) so another £25 gone:mad:

All in all we've spent £153 of £360!

I normally include everything I would buy if I went to a supermarket, however I have stopped including alcohol as although we don't buy it often we buy it in bulk when on offer so we can easily spend about £50! I also don't include birthday presents.

So my budget of £360 is for 2 adults a 5yr old and 2yr old children.

Well, I went to MrT, spent £11.01. Got the mushrooms I went for (whoopsied) and also got 8 pork chops (whoopsied) for £4.79. Also took advantage of their tinned toms offer - as if we haven't got enough. Got 6 cartons of passata with herbs and garlic, 92p each or 3 for a pound. Also chopped toms and plum toms same price. Hope that helps someone.

Not included in budget, but something I'm very proud of. Our breakdown cover was up for renewal at the end of June. The quote was £115. Said to OH thats stupid considering we haven't called them out for a few years. So I cancelled it. When we were at Mr T's there was a stand outside, the same company. I asked for a quote and was told £69!! Took it out and got a lovely stainless steel flask as a welcome pressie.

Thank you MSE, I wouldn't have thought of doing this before.

Yes, very much so. I also like to play spot the Slimming World person.

I went over by a long way in June in the end - in the region of £550 against a planned £450, but I am trying to bulk buy for when DHs salary stops so there was some sense to it. Not changing anything this month, and trying very hard to resist a home deliver before my pay day on 20th. If it isnt here then they can do without. I am certainly not re-stocking for SS1 who has eaten 5 packs of crisps a day for the last week and a months worth of cereal bars .

Please put me down for £450 for July Mrs M.

Well I was way underbudget last month £244.62 and budget was £400 :T:T:T

So this month I am going to reduce it but only by £25.00 as don't want to go over little baby steps and hopefully still achieve my goal :D

So this month my budget will be £375.00 I have done a big shop for the month which came to £136.56 so lets hope I can achieve the same the same and come in under budget this month.

I am trying to decorate at the moment so not eating as much but also not got time meal plan properly but hopefully it will be done by the end of the week and I can get back to track properly.

Welcome to any newbies sorry its a quick post but ceiling is wanting its 4th coat of paint :eek:

We had a new L*dl open near us recently so thought I would go and have a look around. Spent £11.91 on a loaf of bread, bread rolls, 3 bottles of Robinsons apple and blackcurrant, 4 pints semi skimmed milk, potato salad, 1 red pepper, 4 baking potatoes, houmous, chicken and sweetcorn sandwich filler, bag of haribo fantasy mix for children to share and a pack of rhubarb.

We are having for tea a pack of sausages from the freezer with salad, yum yum.

Hope everyone is staying on track.
