I really recommend the lakeland jam tins!
I brought a tin last year and filled several jars.

A tip with the jars - I went to asda and looked for the cheapest jars I could find - I ended up buying 8 lots of basic mint sauce, 22p each or something silly! Once the jars had been put through the dishwasher they were fine but the lids still smelt a bit minty! I had some cellophane circles which I put on top and secured with an elastic band.
Your wonderful, thank you, - got his lordship on jam jar saving, going to have to have a go at this.

First attempt am really pleased made 10 2227g jars out of one tin so with the costs of the jars worked out at £1.20 each. I need to find cheaper jars if I want to sell them at the school fete. I will buy the cheap mint sauce from asda for gift ones which will work out at 57p each x x thanks guys enjoyed my time in the kitchen tonight x x:happyhear YUMMY MUMMY TO HENRY BEAR AGED 10:happyhearslimming world need to get back to target 25lb to goDisney World here we come May 2018:j0 -

sorry to jump in but do you think you could use a silicone mould for these or would a non-stick one be better? They look fab and will make a great Christmas choc pressie!
As someone else said I think it will be fine, do a tester to see, you can always reuse the chocolate if it does not work. I did a basin one before and as it did not want to come out I loosened it with some hot water which made it slide out really easily.0 -

You probably won't be able to reuse the lids for jam/marmalade as it's difficult to get the smell out (ok for chutney or savoury jellies) - you could get the cheap mixed fruit jam or lemon curd from supermarket & use those though
