could u substitute the normal sugar for a disbetic sugar, sorry thate the only thing I can think of at the mo. I know diabetic chocolate not nice, a lot of diabetics have a small amount of normal choc and balance out the food later in the day. xx

Hi all.... I have just been reading recipes for making Chocolate Bark... You basically melt Chocolate and then top with whatever you like!! let it set and snap into shards, and put in pretty bags to package.

I have never baked with Diabetic chocolate, but it could maybe be used with some low sugar toppings if it melts nicely :)

  • Hi a newbie here, can't wait to get started on some homemade marmalade and chutney. I am starting off with some sweet chilli jam fingers crossed it all turns out ok x

I have a male friend who is really hard to buy for.. when I make edible gifts as presents he doesnt like sweet things! He likes savoury stuff. I thought of making a chutney but that might be a bit boring, it would be ok but not something he would eat very often. Any other ideas?

Also making a purple topped one for part of DD's birthday cake, which she can smash to get at the inside bits.

sorry to jump in but do you think you could use a silicone mould for these or would a non-stick one be better? They look fab and will make a great Christmas choc pressie!

I really recommend the lakeland jam tins!
I brought a tin last year and filled several jars.

A tip with the jars - I went to asda and looked for the cheapest jars I could find - I ended up buying 8 lots of basic mint sauce, 22p each or something silly! Once the jars had been put through the dishwasher they were fine but the lids still smelt a bit minty! I had some cellophane circles which I put on top and secured with an elastic band.
  • I also used mint sauce jars as above - i even tested them against tesco ones but tesco labels were impossible to get off!

I've done something similar to this before and used silicon. Found you could peel the silicon case away from the chocolate. I rekon its easier tan the tin :)
