Hi everyone, I'd like to join you please. I've come over from the Thrifty Gifty Christmas threads so already know some of you
I have read all the posts so far and feel very inspired to make my own chutneys and such. Today I had a cupboard clear out and emptied out all the almost finished jars of beetroot etc that went out of date 4 years ago. So I've had a tidy and also managed to collect 10 jars of varying sizes. They are now soaking in the sink and after a good clean I'll sterilise them. Does anyone know if it's okay to sterilise them with the Milton liquid used for sterilising babies bottles? I'm guessing it must be okay if it's designed for babies but thought I'd better check.

Hi
Yes I'm afraid I had to buy the m&m's and pick them out. 3 big bags for £3 at Sainsburys at the moment or even better 89p each at Asda this week.
Just a suggestion I picked out the brown ones too for 'Reindeer poop' :rotfl:which I do the same as the 'Reindeer noses', my son thinks they are great.
Oh, and we ate the other ones..... yum!:jA small Thank You can make a BIG difference0 -
Does anyone have a t&t limoncello recipe please? I want to try and make some for my OH but there's a lot of recipes out there and I would prefer to try one that someone has had success with first :rotfl:0

Sorry to butt in, but I thought I would add to this thread. I picked up 2 silicone chocolate mould sets today from Poundland. One is heart shapes and one is ovals:
I posted about this seperately on the main board, but just thought I'd include it on here for those that want to make small chocs for hampers, perhaps.0 -

Dulce de Leche is the name of the food, not a brand name, but you can make it from condensed milk (which is why they also do a version).
I've not made it myself yet, but was literally just looking it up a couple of hours ago. You are supposed to cook it in the unopened can for a couple of hours, although there is a small risk of explosion there, but you can apparently also do it either overnight in a slow-cooker or in 15 mins in the microwave, but it does involve standing over it as you do it. If it comes out as nice as Dulce de Leche then I won't begrudge that 15 mins
I was also thinking of this as a possible addition to the original basket of food that was being suggested in this thread.0
