I had a mahogony front door and I painted it royal blue with a new shiney brass handle and letter box. It looked really smart.
Here I go again on my own....

Eye up the neighbours doors - is there a scheme to fit in with? Always looks good when the doors are either the same, or all distinctly different. Personally I'm a fan of the red/green/blue. Hate my own white PVCu double glazed door.

Well may sound odd but the colours i'm not too keen on are yellow & green..our house is painted yellow with green front door although had not much choice as bought new before it was finished but really like it! The front door is a bottle green.

I like the strong blue/red or black as mentioned. But I do like natural wood like a real oak door or something like that providing it fits in with your windows and other frontage. Quick coat of stain and varnish may be easier maintenance going forward as well

I rubbed my mahogany front door down, took ages and painted it this colour as well. New letterbox and door knob, looks lovely.

Painted my windows Fired Earth Dunstable white which is a sort of clotted cream colour.
