Good Morning All,
Gorgeous day up here, it wasn't quite so great yesterday, but we had a fabulous day out, and I have caught the sun on my face and arms, which was quite a surprise as the clouds were pretty thick! DS1 had a fabulous birthday and went to bed exhausted and content.:A
Lunch today is leftover roasted veg and quorn fillets from the picnic/BBQ yesterday, My sisters are coming up this afternoon to see the birthday boy, and I have a couple of pizzas I made last week in the freezer for that, and some salad, and birthday cake.
OH is away at 11.30, he's had a good weekend, and that should make it easier to go, he struggles if he's been tired and feels he hasn't had much good quality time with the boys. Don't know yet where he is off to next, or when.
Penpin, WOW at London Zoo, that is amazing, no wonder you worked so hard to get things sorted out for her, I remember that thread well, and some of the less friendly comments people made. Hope she has a fabulous time, and if there are Rhinos, tell her to give them a rub for me, they are my favourites.:D Good luck with the Dr today XXX
Hope everyone else is well, N9eav, hope things go smoothly with your arrangements.
Have a fab day everyone, and stay safe.

Morning folks
PenPin - wow - that's great news about your DD. She should feel very proud of herself:T. Hope all goes well for you with the dr visit.
N9eav - hoping plans for funeral go well for you.
Hot again here. Took dogs out at 7.30 and the park was lovely and quiet. Breezy so lots of noise of wind in the trees, which I love.
Busy day today but when I'm back I'm tackling more washing. Putting in our bedding in a mo but have a backlog. Might make ratatouille later as have aubergines and courgettes to use (both Sains basics - can't believe the quality). It would be handy to dollop on baked potatoes, rice or to have cold mixed with...something
My DSis and her husband and grown up kids came for a meal on Friday night. It was great to see her as they live near London. Her kids are in Edinburgh though so I see them quite a bit. Lovely to have them and our lot round the table - can't remember the last time we were all together - years anyway. She does a lot of exercise and was looking very toned. This has encouraged me to get the wii fit out  . Go me eh? Have been doing 30 mins a day:D. Now I know that doesn't sound very OS, especially as we have a park outside which i could (???) jog round BUT the wii is there, already bought and paid for a while ago, so there it is getting active use:D.
Ok, off to have a quick cuppa before heading out.
Hope you enjoy your day everyone.
(((hugs))) to peeps who are feeling low

Morning :hello:Well what a sorry performance from our multi million pound divas
Well done to Pen-Pin's DD :j
Anyone watch Crop To Shop the other day? Fascinating. I learned how make a fridge if our electricity runs out
I roasted a chicken yesterday, had a leg for tea. Mr tru wandered into the garden while I was eating it and came back in with some peas and broad beans. So I shelled them straight on to my plate and ate them raw
We strained and bottled the rhubarb champage yesterday. Shame we have to wait 2 weeks before we can drink it. I've been popping the tops on the elderflower, 2 bottles are going nuts and have sprayed me each time. Must remember to pop before washing my hairBulletproof0 -
morning all
not been on for a bit as been busy with DS.
He had his dental surgery under GA on Fri which was quite traumatic:o he had 4 teeth out and steel crowns on 4 others. I wish there was some way of avoiding having crowns fitted to all his adult teeth when they come in but as it is due to hypoplasia I dont think anything can be done:(
I am keeping him off school for the first couple of days this week so am on unpaid leave:o
Very hot here already:cool:
I have a cauliflower needing using so am going to look for a curry recipe.
Veg in garden doing well.....I have loads of courgette flowers and a couple of courgettes:T
Bitsy told you there would be a reason behind your DS not wanting to go to school and you would find out eventually;). Oh and DS is funny with clothes....never wants jumpers on only t shirts even when it is freezing. He wont wear sandals as they feel like ripped shoes:rotfl:
Penpin well done to your DD:T
Taplady good luck for your DS today....hope he passes with flying colours, he deserves it bless him
Redruby good luck to DD today0 -

Ive text DD and asked if she can get some pics of the Rhinos if they have any.
Just to keep this on OS I did make her packed lunch last night. I froze 2 marmite (thats what she wanted!) rolls, froze an OJ box, fruit flakes (dont ask:D), apple, frozen yogurt, frozen pork pie and a blue ribbon bar. Also froze a bottle of water. I did offer to give her money but she wants to spend her lunch hour looking around the zoo.
Give you a laugh.....she looked more like the crocodile hunter this morning....beige shorts....baggy green poloshirt....hikinh socks and boots....it was quite funny...all she needed was a whip...then she would have looked like Indianna Jones!

morning all!
not caught up with the thread for the last few days - just too busy with work and life in general.
Today is DSs day day at college :j- he has to hand all his work in and it will be marked today while he is present so he should know if he has passed or not. He's worked really hard and is very nervous. Please send him some positive vibes and cross everything for him!:)
PP - well done to your DD - we've followed her through her high school years(doesn't seem 5 mins since the 11 plus) so its fab to hear that she's doing so well:T
I hope the docs visit isn't as ominous as you think - sending you a virtual (((hug))
Redruby - good luck to your DD in her exams x
I'm off to work later for 11 hours but have been busy so far already
upstairs tidied and vaccumed - 1 bed changed
downstairs tidied (just about to vac)
2 loads of washing(1 on line 1 still in machine)
Tea is pizza for the chaps - mine is at work.

Morning,beautiful again.
Had a hectic day yesterday, went early to the Classic car show with Dh,my brother and 2 pals.Left early to watch footy, the car conked out on the way home, luckily dear bro managed to sort it quickly, and we popped into the local for a shandy about 1.We saw it was filling up quick so I stayed there to keep the table, while DH took the car back, and feed the dog,but DS had already done it.We had a great time at the local (apart from the actual match)with lots of people we hadnt seen in a while, turned into quite a party.I was glad people stayed as the landlady has spent a fair bit of money this summer making the beer garden bigger, new flagging and furniture for the World Cup.When the whistle blew she said that people would either get off home quick,or stay and drown their sorrows-seemed to be the latter.DSons seem a bit grumpy this morning
,they stayed later than us
I forgot to put the bin out last night,so rushed out with it but had just missed them.Normally hear them coming, but when I looked up the street, only 1 person had theirs out.Luckily there wasnt much in ,so we can manage.
Big tidy now everyone is out of the house, maybe some sewing later.Prawn & avocado salad for tea so nice and easy.
Pen Pin-your daughter has done really well, hope she has a great time.Hope docs visit goes ok.
Elona-hope the house goes through ok.
N9eav-sorry about your uncle,& hope your executor duties go smoothly.
Wmf- glad you had a fab weekend with your sister and family.
Take care all.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Hola!
Awoken in the night, with a horrendously loud clap of thunder, rare cos normally I sleep through everything, then saw the lightening, was probably about 4 miles away, after that one loud clap others were more normal, and then heard the rain, but this morning can hardly tell it has rained, not sure how long it rained as I turned over and went back to sleep;)
Hope your arrangements goes OK n9eav, you do have a varied time at work :rotfl::rotfl:
:grouphug: and positive vibes to all those taking exams today, especially Taplad & Ruby.
:T:DPen-Pin great news for DD:T always pleased to share everyone's proud Mum moments. If you reach for the sky you may get half way there, if you don't reach you get nowhere, and the worst they can say is NO!
As for the England footie, and the lack of Tennis players from the UK, well it i all about people in it feathering their own nests, and not looking to the grass routes, maybe this will make us consider limiting the number of foreign players in the English League so that local players get to play premier level footie regular, or maybe our Premier League is not so hot?? For the Tennis maybe the LTA should look at how many of the juniors pay for lessons with the appointed coach in addition, if if they don't how long they stay in the junior coaching group:mad::mad: I have to admit I didn't watch the footie, just laid sunbathing, listening to the cheers, from both camps. Did anyone watch the Athletics, folk trying their hardest and if lucky get lottery funding to train, and if not work and train!
Elona - hope the house sale goes smoothly, glad you found something you could find good for you.
Jayward - positive vibes to you to be fit for the graduation.
Butterfly Brain - I also have just started back on the low carb diet, done it before and it worked then and have lost .8 of a kilo each day so far (2 days). I need the quick boost to keep me motivated, it will slow down after the first two weeks, but does keep working. Not that it shows so far, plenty to go at!!
Have a lovely day everyone. Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0
