I fear I am on the verge of a glut of courgettes already  Mind you I do have 3 plants so shouldn't really expect anything else
Slightly stressful day here which I shan't bore you all with. Went to Sainsbugs this afternoon and picked up some more clothes for DD and a few bits for the week. Got a load of Staffordshire Oat Cakes reduced for my mum so she was pretty pleased
Tea tonight is salad as quite frankly it's just too hot to cook and I really can't be bothered
PP - well done to your DD :T:T:T
NPM - Hugs for you and Noah. Glad his op went OK for you xx
Sorry probably missed loads of you off but brain has gone to mush

I've just looked in and have seen PP's post - huge well done to your daughter. Hope she has a really good time.
Hope you don't mind me doing this as a newbie to this thread but today has slid somewhat time-wise and I need motivation to get back on track. I hoped it would be OK to list my jobs here and I'll come back later to tick everything off. I'm clearing the fridge and cooking as much surplus food as possible before tomorrow so I need to make:
- A soya chunks and veg stew with mashed potatoes (not fit for much else) for tonight's supper which will happen late when it's cooler so a hot meal shouldn't matter too much).
- Rhubard crumble to use up the bag of rhubarb we were given on Sunday and the greek yoghurt in the fridge.
- Soup for the freezer with the left over veg.
- Soft strawberry jam or at least the beginnings of it since it gets left over night, is boiled up, and left, and boiled up and eaten! - new recipe I'm trying out.
- Lots of freshly squeezed orange juice for lollies as a treat later in the week.
The washing has been billowing on the line all day and I'm going to have a go at getting another lot washed and dried before bedtime. I think I can do it because it's still so flipping hot and the next load will be fast drying.:D
So here goes...

Afternoon all
Today I was working with a newbie colleague, he started his first team today. He is ex Army, spent 30 years there, so this is a complete change for him, but he seems to be ok! It was an easy day for me as I was just there to babysit him and make sure there correct paperwork was done. He picked me up, and dropped me back to my friends to get my car after work, which was lovely of him!
I'm still feeling ickymy head is all fuzzy, hopefully it won't last much longer. I've drank over 2 litres of water cos I feel dehyrated. It's clearly a cold though cos I'm starving! I can't decide what to make for tea. Debating either a huge bowl of pasta, or a mountain of SW chips, eggs, beans and veggie sausage!
Funny day with the weather here, gloriously sunny this morning and boiling hot, then rain this afternoon, but it's still hot now.
Have a good evening all

Well done PPs DD - hope she has a fab time at the zoo, what an opportunity!
Well said JackieO!
Good luck to the college/school folk.
Went to get my Euros after work, also did a bit of urgent shopping (no food in the house), posted two parcels and washed the car. I am trying to get myself organised before the end of term and I go away for a few days.
Take care all.
Hope you feel better Flutterby.0 -
Thank you - hope nobody minded!
Knowing that I'd posted something here meant that I got just about all of it done: stew for supper (and spare cooked spuds to fry up tomorrow) and the rhubarb and ginger crumble for pud; strawberries for conserve beginning a long soak in sugar (as per recipe) prior to tomorrow's first cooking of them; enough soup for tomorrow's lunch for everyone and probably some to freeze, although it may all get eatensince I threw in loads of basil and a couple of tins of tomatoes with the veg and everyone really likes this sort of soup; extra load of washing done and dried just before a passing shower arrived at about 8. The only thing that didn't happen was the oranges for the lollies but they can keep. Am really pleased with myself and thanks again.
Feel better soon Flutterby.
