Well I applied for the Flybe card exactly 7 days ago today.

The card and £2000 limit has just arrived in the post! This in spite of me being deemed over-committed (I am!) by normal high street lenders.

Only problem is that I wanted to transfer a balance and the BT rate on the letter shows as 18.9% :( The card isn't a lot of use to me unless I can do the BT, to be honest.

Is this normal for Sygma? I only applied for the card in the hope of reducing interest payments on another card. Should I call them up and ask for a deal?

That's the standard rate that the BT reverts to after six months.

Call them up and they will honour the 0% for six months. You may need to escalate the call to a manager if the agent doesn't honour the 0%, but don't worry, you do have it, but the call centre staff can be a bit dopey.

Persevere, and ask them over and over and over "are you sure you've put it on the 0% for six months" to prevent any potential screw ups ;)

Don't they have a BT 0% for the first 6 months?

I have on my Silvercard, which is issued by Sygma too.

Yes, I'm sure that's what it said when I applied online. The letter that comes with the card makes no reference to it though.

Thanks both - I'll push for the 0% when I call them to activate it. The card will be cancelled if they say no ;)

Don't let them say no, just get all up in their face and ask to be transferred to someone capable of honouring the advertising ;)

I had to really push and speak to two different team leaders before they honoured the 0% on my MyWorld card. Can be a bot of a joke with them sometimes...

    Good luck!

I called Sygma about a week and a half ago to apply for the silver card as I was having issues with the website and putting my address in. I went through the process with the man on the phone, within 5 seconds he said that I was "accepted in principle" and all I had to do is sign the agreement and send it back. Today I called them, they said that they got my agreement back and that my card will take between 7 and 10 days. I have been given a £1000 limit and 24.9% p.a and 0 on BT for 6 months. I thought this was good as I dont have much credit. I have a littlewoods account with £300 a next account that was £300 but they made it £0 for some reason a £500 od with halifax a £150 reserve with barclays premier which I refuse to use oh and a vanquis card with £250, they said that they would give me an increase after 4 months, but 7 months later still nothing!

    Well done :)

Don't worry about increases - they're really easy with Sygma cards.

Call them once you've had the account for just three months and they'll increase it to £1,300 - and again every four months thereafter :o

    Done and dusted :T

Got the operator's name and repeated a few times "so that's definitely on 0% for 6 months then?".

TBH, I've never had a call centre try to get me off the phone so fast! They were even good when I declined the PPI - just said fine and moved on.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. I'm hoping Sygma will be less of a pain to deal with than some other financial institutions I could mention.

Is £1000 their normal minimum opening limit? I was expecting £250 like crappo vanquis!
