Both my Silver and MyWorld accounts were opened with £1,000 as were my mother's Silver and DAYS cards
So pretty normal, yeah

If you want to be absolutely sure, three months +
I waited two months, but had to speak to underwriting to remove the duplicate application flag save being declinedCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

TBH 3 more months won't make a hugh difference as I applied for a Silvercard after only having my Capital One card for 3 months. Give them a try.
What other nasties do you have on your Equifax file?
Nothing at all, my problem is rather lack of credit history. I've got now two catalogues, JD Williams (£1000) and Next (£150), one contract mobile phone, the Aqua mastercard since October 2009 (£250), Capital One Classic since February (£400), a Natwest Step account reported to CRAs and a new HSBC full Bank Account. Well, I do have the cashplus thing too, ends in August.
My older accounts are the catalogues and Natwest account, since may 2009. I used to have a Halifax Easycash long before, but it never showed on my credit files.
So, basically I suppose I am decline due to a lack of credit history and the fact that I am self employed and live in a rented flat.
I did have a couple of defaults, but it was back in 1994: Natwest and Barclays (could this be a reason Barclays never approves me for the Barclaycard initial?) :question:0 -
I shall apply at the end of october does that sound okay?
Yup sounds perfectDon't apply for anything in the mean time, the fewer searches you have the higher your chances of getting a lower APR.
I was given 24.9% on my Silver card then 19.9% on the MyWorld card, but I'm sure if I'd waited the extra month and not applied elsewhere in the mean time I'd have got the 16.9%. Ah well.
I'm on a "Stop our Searches" until further notice now. I've only got two in the last six months on Experian and five on Equifax, but I want to get it down to zero to improve my chances of getting an HSBC Current Account (will be a big step for me as a discharged bankrupt!)Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Izools, I know different lenders have different lending criteria, but you have a Barclaycard and a Sygma card and I was refused for both of them recently. However I applied for an HSBC Bank Account and got it approved straight.
Have you tried to apply to HSBC recently? I believe I had 4 searches with Experian when I did.0 -

Well it seems you are on the right track to being fully credit worthy, I hope you get the HSBC account, well I am sure you will! :beer:0 -

Ah well you see there's something very strange about my credit files.
Equifax and Experian link addresses in totally different ways. The end result of that is that, despite being honest on my credit applications, creditors who search Equifax don't see my Bankruptcy and Defaults, but those that search Experian do.
This is because Equifax only link to the address prior to the one provided - Experian link all and sundry,
I have moved three times since being declared Bankrupt. Therefore, I apply for credit, and enter my current and last address. Both have clean history.
Because HSBC search Experian as well as Equifax, they will see my Bankruptcy and defaults.
Because Barclaycard and Sygma only searched Equifax, they had no idea about my illustrious adverse credit historyCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Everyone should apply for the Creation card instead of Myworld or Silver as Creation card offer 0% on balance transfer for 15 months, as good as any other on high street....0
