If I was to set up a dd could I choose to pay off some extra online as well, getting the minimum covered is good advice tho and covers any problems or late payment charges so thanks for the advice.

I opened my HSBC account back on the 8th of June and they still aren't reporting it to CRA's. How long does it take for them to set up accounts? Kilasuit has yours been set up on either Equifax or Experian?

Not on any of them atm. Sending a secure message to them to see if they can enlighten me as to why its not showing.

Found something rather bemusing out when i spoke to them on the phone when asking about when the account was opened.

The advisor said 8th april 2009. Thats when i made my first application. So i'm now thinking if i had rang up and spoken to someone on the phone and sent in ID i've had the account then.

Funny you said that, because they told me I opened my in February last year. It's says on their system i've been a customer since February 2009. How odd because I never got accepted until June 2010.

With my (non HSBC) accounts, I've found that they send updates (mostly) monthly dated the same day after the statement, but not necessarily on that day. So if they update on the 6th, and your statement on the 8th, it may take at least two more weeks before you'll see it. (And I've seen them missing a monthly update at a time).
    Enjoy the silence...
