Hi all, been offline for a while as i had recently gone bankrupt.
I was wondering wether anybody on here can advise me about rebuilding my credit rating as i cannot see how to go about this as i am now bankrupt.
I would like to start off with a mobile phone contract but dont know which provider to approach. (I have spent over £30 in 2 weeks on payg.)
I have been allowed to keep my lloyds tsb current account open and i have opened a co-op cashminder account as a backup. I was also able to keep my virgin media account open. So i currently have 2 accounts still reporting green zeros to the 3 refrence agencies.
I cannot see myself getting a subprime credit card anytime soon as i had taken down a capital one and a vanquis card so my options are extreamly limited. The only subprime card i did not have was aqua and i dont want to apply for this card until i am sure i have a good chance as i dont want to screw up my credit history again. Also i dont need to have a credit card at the moment.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -

As i don't want to screw up my credit history again, that is a under statement think personally your credit file is trashed at the moment and will be for sometime unfortunately,i have heard aqua as a sub-prime card can be quite strict as many people who are not bankrupt struggle to get that card.
I think you may well struggle to get credit to rebuild your credit history at the moment TBH,a friend of mine went bankrupt 2 years ago think he went to barclays and opened up an account and got a debit card as well.
You will get there in the end just take time.0 -
Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for CRA's to update information from lenders?
I have just had a look at my credit reports, and the last time HSBC updated my accounts, was two months ago.
I wonder whether it would have been the case if I had defaulted.
None of my new accounts are showing either.
How long does it take for new accounts to be listed?0 -

With all due respect you have just become debt free, why would you want to obtain new credit lines?0 -

I could be wrong but I thought while you bankrupt that you could not get any new credit or that is very hard to get credit while you are bankrupt.
With all due respect if you post on the bankrupt thread as well there will be people that have more knowledge about being bankrupt that can give you the right advice to help you with your questions.
Good luck.0
