Morning everyone.
Gorgeous day here today. Had the usual battle with DS about wearing shorts. He's got told if he wants to go outside then he has to wear shorts and not jeans. Guess what he's just asked to put on :T:rotfl:
Off to Worcester to pick up a brand new climbing frame I won on ebay. DS is rather excited, I hope it doesn't take too long to put up
So given our little trip out there won't be much OS going on, Tea will be something with chicken I think. I need to get some housework done as I have a potential client coming at 9.30am tomorrow so house needs to look slightly better than it does usually
Ladygrim - Nice to see you posting
PP - Sorry to hear things haven't been so good. Big hugs for you xxx
tiredmum - goodness this is still going on? How stressful for you all (and your neighbour) xxxx
stressedmumof1 - nice to see you posting. Crossing fingers for your exam results
N9eav - I agree about the dry weather. Its costing me a fortune to keep watering the veggies with the hose. The rest of the garden I am afraid has to fend for it's self - water is rationed for things in pots and the veggies. My grass - well in the places where it hasn't been worn away by children is now starting to turn brown. Ho hum.
Have a lovely Sunday OS or not. Hugs to those that need them.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Don't know whats got into me, spent all day away from home but when I returned was in the mood for clearing the house! Did the living room, hall, stairs, kitchen, dumping ground(aka landing at the top of the stairs!) and most of our bedroom. Today plans include finishing my bedroom, clearing out clothes, paperwork, both bathrooms and washing and ironing. Along with the usual daily stuff:eek:
DS and OH are away camping since Friday so just me and DD today although I have promised the boys a roast ready when they get home:)
Weather up here yesterday was cloudy but warm. Please send some of the lovely sun up north:rotfl:
Hugs to anyone who needs/ wants them

Good morning
Bitsy The House Elf started off in long trousers yesterday. He did agree to shorts eventually. The weekend before last he sat and watched tv with his woolly hat on because I refused point blank to let him wear it for school on Friday. He is in the good books though as he behaved very well on holiday and slept until 8am this morning!
I did take some pictures of "the room that will be the kitchen" yesterday, and as soon as I find the camera again I will post a photo. That could take some time given the state of this house.
All washing ironed and put away so far, but I have another load to go on this morning. I also need to carry on with the dust clearance. I am trying to lose weight now our holiday is over as I have put on a lot of weight since last October. Shouldn't be to hard with no cooker - microwaved potatoes and salad anyone?
Take care all of you0 -
Thanks Ladygrim - it was a relief to get it done.
Bargainbird - you are more then welcome - won't see me in a cossie though - shorts and vest morelike - don't think I own a swimming costume anymore :rotfl:
Nice to see some old faces (you know what I mean!) posting

Good morning all

It's a lovely sunny day here today so I would like to get out in the garden to do the weeding and cut the grass this morning as it's been a bit neglected of late!
I went PYO strawberries yesterday so as soon as some kind soul replies to my thread on here I will be making jam. I'm also going to make a batch of lemon curd then I can give some away to friends. Need to pop to lakeland for some jars first
Started off some elderflower cordial yesterday so I need to get some bottles for that. Might get some grolsch bottles or something so it looks nice to give as gifts to friends... Probably get 4 or 5 bottles and freeze the rest in freezer bags until we need it.
Hugs to everyone,
Kevin x0 -
Mince is braising and I've got chicken breasts, passata, onions, celery, mixed peppers and fajita seasoning in the other slow cooker... hopefully the chicken will just shred when cooked and we can have that with wraps later.
DD got a turbo bubble machine when I mystery shopped a toy shop yesterday - it is currently blowing out thousands of bubbles outside my kitchen window and it looks fabulous!! Every garden should have one!:DClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Morning all, Another scorcher here :T apparantly it got up to 30 yesterday, looks like it might be the same today.
OH got in at 7.30 last night after a 12 hr day, he was knackered and starving, I have made meatball sub rolls, bagettes, with meatballs cut in half, and a bit of pasta sauce, topped with motzarella, he ate 4 huge ones
, mind you they were delish, and will be a regular meal here.
Popped into town yesterday and got dd some sandals, I am so pleased, she insists on wearing cheap dolly shoes, which stink after a while
I have them in the garden at the moment with bicarb in, smell has nearly gone :T
Just been watching a mum sparrow, she bought her babies down to the shed, sat them on the top then came down to the bird feeders, and took each baby some food, then encouraged them down to feed, very sweet.
Bought a new hose yesterday, its one that fits on the wall and reels in, will have to get OH to fit it later on.
I also did some work in the spare room, was going to whip over it with a coat of paint, but I should have known it would not be that easy, the ex owner has c****d up again, and all of the paint on the walls has to be stripped, did half a wall yesterday, will do a bit each day, its never simple !!
Dinner today will be bacon chops, was going to do a risotto with it, but its just too hot, might make up a cold rice salad instead.
Dr Who was brilliant last night, quite emotional, I think thats the last one for this series
WM is just finishing with our bedding, need to get dd to strip hers when she gets up, I will leave her in bed till 9.30 then get her up for more studying.
Tired mum, how terrible that its still going on , you must be so fed up with it all x
Have good days all xx0 -
Hi all - long time, no post from me for ages. Things have been really busy here - the house is coming on a treat and, last weekend, I had a meet up with one of the girls on the Knit Your Square thread. She and her DH were driving back to the UK from Spain and happened to say that they were passing our part of France so we invited them to stay for the night. We had a great time and talked as if we had known each other for years!
PenPin - I'm so sorry that things are bad for you. I do hope life gets better for you soon - you go through such a lot.
The weather is scorching hot here, too. DH is working on the outside of the house and thought he'd start early before it gets too hot. Well, it's too hot already! The house, being quite cold in the winter, is the perfect temperature at the moment, as long as we keep the shutters closed where the sun is shining in.
Dinner is something with pork belly slices - probably salad and new potatoes because it's so hot. We have a lovely fresh pineapple for afters.
RedRuby - talking about garden birds, we have a pair of swallows that have successfully raised four beautiful babies in the barn. They are so used to us going in and out (it's where we keep all our tools) that they have no fear of us now and fly dangerously close to our heads at about 90 miles an hour! Watching them in the evenings racing around like little Spitfires is the highlight of the day.
Anyway, I will try and keep up with you all more from now on. I hope you all have a great day and that England get through this afternoon - although whether I can stand the agony of watching the match is another matter!
