1st Negative - Is it Unfair?

Hi,

Got my first negative today. Sold an item in mid May, the buyer didn't pay in seven days (which I ask for), created the regular unpaid case, buyer paid soon after, item sent, job done etc.

The other day after an email reminder from eBay about this old case, I closed it saying everything was fine. Then today I get the following piece of negative feedback from the buyer

"Was disappointed to have a non-payment case raised without so much as a reminder."

Now to me that sounds a bit harsh. I've created a few unpaid cases in the past but never had any troubles. Indeed most people apologise to me for the late payment. So am I in the wrong here, do I need to change what I'm doing in the future and what's chances of getting this removed?

Cheers.

Well it would have been nice to send a polite message after a few days to ask about payment ect.

No it seems that there are a few around that do this. I sold a bag a while back and had to wait ages to get money. Now the buyer is saying it's not the sort they wanted :mad::mad:
I don't want to get negged so I just asked them to return it and I'll refund but not the extra postage.
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

I understand what you are saying but still does it justify a negative a month after the event? I thought unpaid cases acted as notifications/reminders. My bad if they don't.

Just a difficult buyer, when people bid they know that they have to pay. Chances are if you sent a reminder they would have neg'd you for something else. A lot of people would have started the NPB after 4 days, the time that ebay allow.

Thanks, I thought for a sec I was being strangely unreasonable here.

Is it worth contacting them now to try and get a revision or just reply to the feedback and then leave it at that?

Yes, I probably have 'first neg syndrome'. It's taken six years so. . .

I would just reply to the feedback, through gritted teeth, nicely. Then forget about it, I can't imagine that they will revise it. Don't forget to block them from bidding on any more of your auctions.

    Don't worry about it.

Makes them look like idiots not you.

They got to the point of a unpaid item (and then some) so they are in the wrong.
As a seller you shouldn't have to hold your buyers hands and plead with them for payment, and most reasonable buyers will see this. You never know, it might even put off a few ditherers. :)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

Just reply saying "Buyer took 7 days to pay. Item sent immediately after payment. unfair neg".

The buyer will then look like a muppet.

Add them to your blocked list!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
