Thanks for the responses since my last post.
Feel I should say I am not trying to be greedy or unreasonable, it was just a question that I had personally wanted to take up with Sky, feel I've ended up coming across badly on this site just for posting a question, but I appreciate the recent responses anyway.0 -
Can I ask why you want to move your phone and broadband to Sky as you indicate no particular difference in price (poor service from VM, only want one bill per month ?)
As other posters have indicated it costs Sky to get a line installed where there previously wasnt one (a BT line that is), plus the 'true' cost to them of a 'digibox',this is money that leaves their business, unlike 'free movies for 3 months' that costs them almost nothing, and as they are guaranteed only 12 months of extra service, they obviously think what they are offering is good enough,as you have already found, the best deals go to new customers,
As you pay Sky £29/month you must have some 'premium' service from Sky, otherwise it would be less than £29, you could call and say you are thinking of moving your TV to VM and see if thay offer you something off the £29, say for arguments sake thay give you what you have already for £19/month for 12 months,( £120 saving), then this can be offset against the £69 Sky want to charge you, of course they may not offer you two deals , £10 off and reduced line install/discounted Sky box, but cant hurt to ask
Or ask VM what they can add another TV service to your current VM phone/broadband TV service for (may be cheaper than Sky)
....with regard to your question, most media companys seem to respond to letter/emails to the CEO...you could try emailing him/her..(google Sky CEO then add @sky.com)
As far a loyalty is concerned I have had Sky TV since 1989, a friend went back to 'uni' as a mature sudent and called Sky to have service stopped, they asked 'How much can you afford ?', '£10/month' says he, they agree....so (as they dont know any better) I call and use the same story....'goodbye then' says them !!!,0 -
Have you tried using their online 'complaints' form? Usually sensible ppl read those and in my case, my problem was resolved by writing to them. all other customer care members whom I had spoken to said that what I am asking for cant be done, but a mail to complaints solved it all!

The £30 you are getting charged for the box is for the install only, it sounds like you are getting the box for free.
The £39 you are getting charged for the new line activation is standard and is actually due to rise to £100 this week so I don't think you were offered a bad deal at all.
why did you have virgin and sky for tv, was there a specific reason for this?
I don't mean to sound argumentative but what do you actually want sky to do? In the grand scheme of things losing your £60 a month isn't going to cripple themLead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
