BB - did your OH have any of the fudge?

    no :rotfl:

He turned up just before the match to get changed and a shower and asked if I'd do him a sandwich as he got ready. I'd sliced the fudge into loads of cubes and put into freezer bags until it was cold. He didn't even ask what it was when he was munching the sandwich in the kitchen! Very unlike him. To be honest, it looked like little bite sized squares of meatloaf and there aren't any weird ingredients in it.....but it does contain pureed liver _pale_. I reckon some posh restaurant could get away with serving it as some trendy offal dish :rotfl:

See it as part of your business planning Claire. Were you able to see which stalls were doing well? Any particular style of jewellery? For me, buying hand made jewellery means buying pieces that really have that 'one off' look and have something quirky or eyecatching about the design. I'm happy to pay a premium for something that looks modern, makes a statement and that I know people will comment on.

I think the problem may be that so many people are making hand made jewellery now.
A friend makes her from glass she makes herself & cant get it to shift at all at the mo.
People want it for next to nothing.

That was what I was going to say - people want a bargain and don't always realise the hard work and effort that has gone into making things.

I don't think any of the stalls were doing very well, There was a jewellery stall selling costume jewellery £1.50 for a necklace or bracelet, I can't compete with those prices, they wern't doing very well either

you're right beanie, there are a lot of people in the market - both my sisters have had a go at selling hand made jewellery over the years.

Any product needs a real unique selling point to attract the buyers. I once saw some beadwork pieces a craft tutor had made. Truly stunning pieces, big chunky pieces but with really intricate work to them. I would happily have paid £20 or so for one of the bangles if they had been for sale (they weren't) but it probably didn't reflect the work put into it sadly. I dread to think of the hours she had put into them, they were just amazing.

I agree with beanie, so many people want it cheap that they'd rather get something tacky rather than something bespoke and made for them....idiots....the tacky stuff doesn't last 5 minutes.

Just had my yummy dinner and now my mouth is on fire cos of the chilli on the beef!

Claire - do you sell anything that tags onto the Pandora fashion at the moment? ie completed bracelets etc?

just thinking - this is 50 beads for just over £7

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/50-Mixed-Silver-Plated-PANDORA-Glass-Beads-14x10mm-/190403264420?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Crafts_Beads_CA&hash=item2c54eb3fa4

or this smaller amount for just over £3 for 20

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20x-Glass-Charm-Beads-Fits-Pandora-/280525971104?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Jewellery_Watches_CostumeJewellery_CA&hash=item4150a69ea0

but you could probably sell them as separate beads laid out on a piece of velvet for £1 each. Have an example of some of them on a bracelet and I reckon they would sell well because it's the in thing at the moment.

I randomly chose this seller on ebay who has had just over 200 feedbacks in the last month - think of all those sales where feedback hasn't been left! They are selling individual beads for between £1 and £3 each
