Morning all :D

Another hot one ahead!

Got my pay slip for the end of the month and it's a 'no teach' month so very sparse :( Done my budget and with my mortgage (thankfully) going down £200 a month I will have £80 left after paying for bills and petrol and some food or £10 if I pay for 6 months car tax out of my salary rather than putting it on CC. OH's food contribution comes today so should be ok for about 3 weeks.

Not much chance of a party chez BB's on that huge surplus!!

After many weeks of asking - OH is in the front garden mowing it for the first time this year!!

Morning BB and those that follow :)

Not sure what I'll be doing this hot and sunny weekend. Washing - definitely; paperwork - should but in reality probably not; enjoying a glass of something alcoholic - without question; housework - NO; watching the footie - don't know yet.

That about sums up the next two days for me. Have fun in the sun everyone.

Shopping arrived, sorted, put away. Split all the meat etc into smaller amounts for the freezer and I have enough for the month it seems :D Excellent. Second lot of washing on and first lot out. I've got my sister coming down for a few days though so I'll probably end up buying extra whilst she is here as she is bringing my niece as well. Bum, that is going to knock me into a negative position for the month. Oh well, it will only be a small amount.

OH is well and truly earning his keep for once in a blue moon. He's cut the pampas grass down after doing the lawn and is now starting to clear the weeds from the areas below the lawn. Even I'm not so cruel though as to send him up after that do to work in the back garden - it really is a jungle and it is incredibly hot.

Right, better do my handouts for class on Monday.....

    Hello everyone!
I felt really depressed yesterday and do still feel low to be honest, but the weather is hot so I am determined to enjoy myself. One quick question have any of you had to live with your parents because you are skint, then find out one of them is activley planning to leave the other to be with another partner? if so how did you play it?

that's a difficult situation downnotout and I've not been in that situation so can only guess at the best thing to do. Perhaps just let them sort things out between themselves without taking sides, but be there to support each one as is needed? Although it will be difficult for all involved as everyone is an adult, hopefully you won't be in the same position you would be if you were a child and didn't understand quite so much the issues and emotions that can come with relationships.

Right....that's one load on the line and another one in the machine. Also sprayed weedkiller on weeds (where else??) in back garden. Need to go to the high street for a few bits and bobs (and an ice-cream :D).

  • Morning everyone,

The sun is shining and it's on days like this I hate living in an apartment.

BB - thanks for starting the thread and I'm impressed your OH is mowing the lawn.

Downnotout - I'm not sure what to suggest for the best with regards to your parents. I really do hope you and your gf can find somewhere to live.

I'm tempted to build a little picnic and sit outside on the communal area of grass and do some studying, however I might get some strange looks?

Hey up Bb & SS & Downnotout.

    Sun has vanished here.
Had someone here last night Bb to give me a quote for my supposedly maintainence free garden to be tidied up.
The weeds are now a total embarrasment.
The going rate seems to be about £14 an hour so keep your OH at it!!!
If I was more able I would be off doing gardens me thinks.Sigh.

    Hi lmc.Go for it.
Would come too but a wee bit far.

downnotout - aahh, didn't realise you had children there living with you....perhaps have a chat with them so they remember there are children there who have been through it and it might help them to think about what they say etc when the children are around. Probably not the best help, sorry as it isn't something I've experienced.

beanie - I know, it's a mad rate isn't it. There are professions and well trained jobs that don't get paid that rate! Looks like I'm just about to be roped in to be chief sweeper....ppft. I closed all the windows to keep the pollen levels down so going out there will be as quick a job as I can make it.

  • It's very tempting Beanie, plus I'd not have to pay over the top prices for ice creams! As all I'd need to do is run up the stairs and raid my freezer!!!
