hi all my case has been found at last!!!
but sent to the wrong address so still no case. well i might get it back one day. Have phoned many times to make sure they know where to send it as they had my address wrong on the web site. They changed my details on the web site but still sent it to the wrong address.
I totally agree, that if 156 pax are booked then EZY should take all the baggage, I am sorry yours was not taken.
When people check-in they often have extra baggage. it is not until all the baggage is checked-in and totalled that a problem with weight becomes apparent. And this also depends on the air temperature, runway in use, etc. There are not many places that the departures are weight critical, but NAP is one of those places. Sadly we cannot then say "let's take 1 bag from each passenger" which would be fair and best for all because the time taken to check through all the bags would delay the flight. Thus it is just the first xxxxkgs of bags to be at the aircraft (not necessarily the 1st ones checked in as we are at the whim of the airport baggage system).
I assure you I would NEVER leave baggage behind if I could take it. I want happy passengers who will use us again and having no luggage is not the way to achieve this.
This does not help you in your situation but I do hope it explains the mechanics of the system.

Surely it wouldn't be rocket science, given they have a computerised system, for Easyjet to calculate and constantly update a cumulative total baggage weight at check in and, when the maximum weight allowed has been checked in, if there were more passengers still wishing to check luggage in, they could then explain this to the remaining passengers, with details of how/when their baggage would be taken on another flight and where/when they could pick it up. At least that way, the remaining passengers would know in advance what was happening and hopefully be able to remove any vital bits and pieces from their suitcases etc. Mind you, I'd never leave anything vitally important (keys, medicines, glasses etc) in my hold luggage as I always travel expecting it to go astray!

Yes, it would be brilliant and would make things a lot simpler. But EZY don't own the check-in desks (nor do other airlines) they belong to the Airport and so the check-in system is the airports. The airlines are only allowed to "rent" the space for the check-in period.
The reason for the OP's bags going missing is most likely due to the Baggage handlers in Naples, not employed by Easyjet. I can never understand why people put important items, such as keys into hold baggage - can hardly blame Easyjet for that!
