OP thought that they were getting five handmade dresses, that take nearly 2 months to make for a sum of £300? Even a Chinese sweatshop would charge for the labour.

Did the phrase "too good to be true" never spring to mind?

my wife gets a few dresses from The far east (china) and for a ball gown she has never paid more than £40. I know these are mass produced (as the first ball we went to there happened to be 5 simular dresses there) but usually they arrive within the stated time and it isnt 45 days.

It is very difficult when the "bargin" price is from a company who seems on the face of it a legit one.

OP, just a suggestion & someone else will probably be able to say whether they can do anything. Have you tried Trading Standards? Is their feedback any good?
Paypal should really cover a certain amount of days from receipt of goods on this type of listing. I would really badger ebay & paypal, if they allow people to list goods that may take the 45 days to arrive then they should still offer the buyers protection. I think that there was a wedding dress thread similar to this on here a little while ago.
I do hope that everything gets sorted out, enjoy your day.
