I wasn't going to leave the house today, but got invited to meet some friends at the Edinburgh Farmers Market. It's on every Saturday but today is the first time I have been. I've only lived here since 1998 :rotfl:
So, my planned NSD has turned in to quite a spendy day. Xbox (oops...) plus the following tasty goodies....
Strawberries £2.50 (Best fricking strawberries I have ever tasted)
Chorizo sausages £3.30
Tatties £0.70
Garlic cheddar £3.60
Oatcakes (to have with said cheddar) £1.40
I also bought some essentials from the supermarket which came to £4.66, so I have spent £16.16 on food today from the groceries budget. I also paid £4.50 (!!) for a tasty roll with pork and stuffing, which tasted as though it had been Made By The Gods
I suspect that I will be going back to the Farmers Market at some point, but only when I know I have enough cash for the tasty tasty produce! Tomorrow I am going to figure out what to do with the pork&chorizo sausages and have them for dinner with some mash made with the yummy tatties, into which I'm going to put some of the garlic cheese. Anyone who has any ideas about recipes is very welcome to post!

Ohhhh... the farmers market! Dangerously spendy but very yummy place! Best raspberries I've ever had from there! The tomato stall has really good reports too. (I'm allergic to raw toms so haven't tried them
) One of the stalls has seriously good salad dressings too - I'm working my way through a raspberry one!

Afternoon all
So far I've received £51.93 into my Paypal account from EBay sales, and have spent £9.47 on postage, making a net profit of £42.46. All of this is going into the Debt Pot when it arrives in my bank account.
I also realised that I have £5.87 tracking in Quidco from the things I bought yesterday.
My only non-postage spends today have been £5.50 in Asda on tinned tomatoes, binbags and freezer bags. Nothing non-essential was bought :A
Having consumed a decent chunk of the garlic cheddar I bought yesterday I am now also in prime vampire fighting form :rotfl:

I've had biscuits with stinky cheese for dinner (lazy I know, but oh so tasty!) and fresh strawberries for pudding. I'm going to be going to the market again. The food I bought cost more than I would normally pay, but the quality was amazing in comparision to what I would normally get from the supermarket. I think it's going to be creative recipes from now on to allow me to spend the money on better produce0 -
Good luck for tomorrow! I hope your 1st day goes well.Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
