Hi MW, glad you are having a good weekend, I for one would love to see pictues of your loft when its done. Well done on resisting the footstool:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

*scuttles back, head held low*
I actually bought the footstool newgirly, I am resting my shopping wearied feet on it now. It is gorgeous and goes perfectly with the rest of the room. Have wanted one for 2 years since we moved in here (day 2 I complained there was nowhere to put my feet up) but hadn't found one we both liked. Saw it today in John Lewis sale - reduced from £400 to £150. With the £25 vouchers I found the other day, meant we did have to cough up the rest. It is this one: http://www.johnlewis.com/230986631/Product.aspx but in duck egg blue, and looks much nicer and more retro than in the photo.
Will definitely post photos of loft once done - expect something mid Feb!

Hi MW, I LOVE it when you spend some money! I hope that you are really pleased with your purchases, enjoy them.
I am saving myself for the last day of the John Lewis sale when I hope to snag some wool to do a bit of knitting on that 13 hour flight to Malaysia, woo, hoo.0 -
I will accept my punishment newgirly and pretend I'm remorseful and not enjoying it
.
Toots did you know the last day of John Lewis clearance is today? I was in there yesterday, they had LOADS of wool in these grey bucket table things, around £2 a ball. Some really nice ones there but I didn't have any projects in mind, so walked away (sounds smug, until thinks of the £125 then spent on a footstool ). Malaysia sounds fab by the way, am very envious!

Oh my goodness I need to go today then, thank-you so much. Also I really do love that stool If I see one in the sale I am shamelessly copying you and buying one I hope you don't mind. Better brush my hair and find some socks they open for browsing at 12.00. Bye..........................0

stool looks lovely...and means you will have somewhere comfortable to rest after a hard day of frugalness and decluttering! :rotfl:
I did notice I got to a point of feeling a bit guilty at spending money at all and had to really put back in perspective why I want to be MF - to have a better quality of life , perhaps more options workwise - but not at the expense of evrything else! so I think a shopping spree every so often and a bargain on something you need anyway isnt too bad- dont beat yourself up , enjoy it!
look forward to loft pics too...0 -
You need to enjoy the stool and get full use of it! It's nice to buy things and helps to stop resentment grow at saving money constantly :-)Mini Challenge - Halve 2nd Mortgage by Year EndStarting: £10,000 Currently £8,142.62£3,142.62 to go!0

Loft sounds ace! And I'm soooooo jealous at the thought of a craft room too
Don't worry about spending the money, I fully agree that we need a treat sometimes to keep us going. I've spent a bit this week and it has cheered me up, although the £5 tea-towel has still not had the tags removed and may be going back tomorrow:cool:
