I get very little residue in mine. I tip it up and water goes into drain any bits usually stay on concrete driveway read to be swept up. If you keep things bagged you shouldnt have much residue anyway
Its fare cheaper than paying someone and honestly it doenst take very long once you give a dirty bin a good clean and bag things up I do two bins alernate weeks none recyclables and recyclables0 -
The only problem with cleaning it myself is where to tip the water afterwards?
The correct reply is on the compost heap . But the bins are heavy , so when I did mine yesterday it was tipped into the road side gutter. As I do it very frequently the green wheelie is fairly clean , the black wheelie , rubbish mostly bagged . Never , repeat Never have I had maggots.0 -
I do use wheelie bin liners 99p for 10 from home bargains.
I also wash it out about every six weeks.
Yesterday was the first time we have had maggots in it they were all over the lid so DH took the bin bag out lay it on its side and let the chickens have their lunch!! ( sorry if anyone is a little squeamish!!)0
