I think it's classed as an underlying entitlement.

YOU ARE RECIEVING A BENEFIT, YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS ARE PAYED, YOU CANT GET ANY MONEY BECAUSE YOU HAVNT PAID ENOUGH NI CONTRIBUTIONS AND YOU NEED TO FULFIL THE CONDITIONS OF IB TO GET THESE CONTRIBUTIONS PAID.

    do you get it yet?

BECAUSE YOU ARE CLAIMING THE UNDERLYING ENTITLEMENT ONLY AND NOT THE MONETARY BENEFIT.

The only other thing you could do and you would be mad to try is coming of IB and claiming income based ESA which would depend on your partners wage and you will most likely get kicked off after 13 weeks.

    hello
i will try to keep this as brief as possible
I have a problem with two of the discs in my lower back which has caused pinched nerves to my leg which causes great pain which prevents me from working .
So i am unable to claim anything and unable to work .
On the tax credits form she is entilted to credits if her partner is on benefit but this does not apply to us because although i am on benefit i receive no money.
I am in that exact position. Actually, no - worse as I have 3 discs, not two. I've suffered from two for 20 years and the third for a decade.

I WORK so the fact you claim you can't is proposterous.

You are a couple and as such your finances are joint. Whilst it may irk you that you have to ask her for money to go to the pub, that is entirely of your own making. You ARE capable of work, you choose not to. I will not dispute the fact that the work would be both limited in type and duration but because of that, you would qualify for the disability component of working tax credit even if you don't get DLA.

One question: There's an operation you can have. Why haven't you had it yet?

what pub are you talking about?

my consultant has told me that the chances of an operation working are very slim and if he operates he will have to do 4 discs as two other discs are damaged and then this will make a section of my back immovable

Taken from the tax credit help pages

Extra payments if you have a disability

To qualify for extra payments, you have to meet all of these conditions:
    • you must be working for 16 hours or more a week
    • you must have a disability that makes it difficult for you to get a job
    • you must be receiving, or have recently received, a qualifying sickness or disability-related benefit
so i wont qualify for that will i

    More pseudo-medical advise on here.

They should make "impersonating a doctor" illegal.
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

Unless Hammyman has shown you his certificates to practise or is a paid consultant of the NHS or any private certified practise, I would serously ignore his witterings.
