It takes longer to unpick a fraud and get your money back.Lifeisbutadream wrote: »NOT.

Then I will find a bank who can sort out fraud and enable me to pay easily online

Lloyds TSB willl call you while you're online to confirm the transaction. You enter a pin number to confirm the transaction. Very simple, takes no time, and I appreciate the added security.0

Er, yes, I'm sure. Because I've done it.Lifeisbutadream wrote: »Are you sure?? the woman I spoke to said that I would have to ring every time I wanted to make a payment to a new person.
I would rather believe input that is accepted and processed on a website than the word of a single 'customer service' person who thinks she knows what the website might do.
Surely, if you log in, you are able to see the blue link to create a new payment, instead of the grey warning message and phone number that was there before? You have looked??0 -

Some people are never happy.
Write cheques till they are withdrawn.
Move your accounts if you are not happy with the way they are trying to minimise fraud on YOUR accounts!
If you haven't got the time, try queing at your local high street branch, maybe you'll appreciate how quick online services are.
Have you tried calling the overseas number at the back of your card or searching saynoto0870.com for an alternative to the 0845 number you call?
Move your whopping 7 accounts over - as if HSBC or the CSR agent really cares?0 -

OMG keep your knickers on
I asked a question - if you dont want to answer, why bother to post?
No I am not happy - HSBC have messed me around for months and this is the final straw.
Funny that you say they dont care - I just had a call from the business centre this morning begging me not to move accounts - seems that the two business accounts we have must be quite important to them.
I do all my banking online and have never had a problem before - I most certainly do not want to ring up every time I need to pay a new person!
If I have been given wrong information (by customer service at HSBC) and I only need to phone once and then I can set it up myself next time, then great I am happy with that! unfortunately I could only go by the word of the person who I spoke to when I rang THEIR number.

I tend to find that people that do not like HSBC and FD usually because of faults of themselves rather than the banks. But that's just an observation!
If you want to move away from HSBC I would suggest you try A&L

What is FD?
Which faults were you thinking of?
The reason I am not happy about HSBC are (amongst many others):
They keep sending paying in books for our business account printed incorrectly
They cant understand my requirements for paying in books, despite being with them for 2 years now and only opening the account on the understanding that we needed numbered books (they managed it the first time, just cant do any more!)
They opened a business overdraft (and charged me for it) without asking, when it was not required
They rang and suggested that we put £10K into a 'high interest account' rather than the one it was already in, then proceeded to put it into a lower interest account than it was already in, tying up £10K for 6 months and not allowing me to have it back unless I paid £100. I then made the grand total of £18.50 interest after 6 months.0 -
OK, so if you do have the link to set up new payees, that's half the original query sorted.Lifeisbutadream wrote: »Yes and what she had set up didnt work.
In what way did the payee she'd set up 'not work'? Why don't you set it up again yourself, maybe she'd done something wrong (sounds rather likely, judging from the incorrect advice she gave).0
