I agree the steak au poivre is not to my taste, but my freezer has to have a supply of easycook stuff for my sons to stick in the microwave for when the "munchies" hit, and they are pretty easy to please at that stage! so these fill the bill, and the wine is fine, so for 12 mains, 6 desserts and 6 bt of wine, £30 seems a bargain to me !!

I can't remember the last time I ate in Burger King or a similar fast food joint.
Was just pointing out that its not real quality items despite having the "finest" label. Its all bits of meat or chicken or fish drowned in high fat sauces. The Steak au poivre won't be like getting a nice piece of steak & making your own (or buying) sauce. It will be a small cheap bit of beef disguised with a pint of high fat sauce.

No matter how hard you exercise its still not good to buy 12 of these "finest" meals;)

I agree with what your saying (I always count my calories) :D

I think however the steak poivre is not too bad on the fat front compared to the rest of the Finest range - I could be wrong but from memory this is the only ready meal from this range that I've sampled

M&S ones are proper food, these are just ready meals & for ready meals for growing lads they are great.

If they did plainer bits of meat or chicken I would have filled up.

I pulled it out of its sleeve in the shop to look & it was just sauce with a bit of meat floating in the middle.
Peppered steak is supposed to have a little poured over, not swim in it. It looked like a TV dinner.

I agree, the quality of the food is not in the same league as M&S, as you say they are "ready meals" as opposed to "dishes". Although my OH loved the salmon fishcake, but I thought it had a strange taste.
  • Looks like they have taken off all the meal deals - finest & otherwise off their site.
Our local Tesco didn't show any 'Finest' meal deal prices - as is often the case. I was tempted to order online but did think they were overpriced/overcaloried especially as we rarely drink wine/alcohol.
I supposed I saved myself some calories. IF they had had ham or chicken like M&S then I'd have been seriously tempted.

I can see the meal deal online, but the dishes have changed and i dont want any of them, last weeks choices were better, i think i only have 3 mains to choose from and 2 desserts and 2 wines.

I just tried the new meal deals and the discount doesn't come up for the meal deal.
