But unfortunately you won't have any choice in the matter.

We all need to face the facts, not only is the system being revamped to exclude the shirkers, but also to exclude the slightly lesser genuine disabled in the community :(:(:(

It may not seem fair but that is "our "governments intention. "We" voted them in. Now we pay.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Well... I'm scared. It's easy to say that if you're genuinely disabled then you'll stay on DLA but it's not that straight forward if you have mental health problems.
I've had a few medical assessments over the years and in the one before last, whoever saw me lied about every answer I gave, and my state at the time. Dripping in sweat and visibly shaking was described as relaxed and happy when I got to see the report.
Luckily the report was such a farce and my partner had been with me so was able to deal with it on my behalf and it was all sorted out without me having to endure another medical.
I hope they will overhaul the proceedure for medicals as I have had to fight every time to get an appointment I can actually attend. I simply need my partner to take me but he works standard office hours. They don't give enough notice for him to book holiday time and his work will never ever let him have a day off for "compassionate reasons". They won't visit me at home because I don't have a "physical" disability, even though they agree I can't go alone.
Last time I managed to go to a new centre, allegedly further away but actually closer to me (different county). They gave me a Saturday appointment and seemed thorough and honest. Fingers crossed that wasn't a one off!
If a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside! :)

    Without offence please.

I don't understand mental health issues.

Unfortunately neither do the relevant authorities.

You will be the 1st group under attack, followed by younger claimants of all categories that will "cost" more in the long term. Closely followed by us old gits that aren't expensive but have considerable voting power, think about it, and sorry for being abrupt.

The relevant authorities (I assume you mean DWP, etc?) don't understand disabilities full stop.

Many people don't understand mental health issues - you're not alone there.

Unfortunately most physical issues have scans/xrays and hospitalisation to support them. Get my drift? It's tangible.;)

MH issues are less defined, again without offence.

    None taken!

Some physical problems there are no tests for, and are done by elimination. (or in the case of a one of mine - testing for something different)

I'm not even sure if there's a test for another physical condition I have - although it's rather obvious if you look very closely at my eyes for a few minutes.

Not unless in the particular case I was talking about the drug is able to grow a new spinal cord which is why the assessment ended in a lifetime award.
There will be a lot of people with these awards who have problems that are not treatable or have no chance of improving by any means.
That is why they were given lifetime awards.
Is re-assessing them going to make them suddenly well.

    I quite agree!
I have a degenerative spinal condition and have already had surgery to keep me 'mobile'. My condition is never going to improve so why waste the money on medicals when there are countless people on benefits who could actually work if they could be bothered.

That is actually what I think most here are trying to say, if you have a genuine case you will be OK. We all want to weed out the scammers, they degrade ordinary disabled peeps.

I do think the current gov don't give a flyinf F about this however, they want the "easiest" 20% off the list. :wall::wall::wall:
